Can Arsenal FC Finish 4th?

With the departure of Cesc and Nasri we all thought that the start of the English PL 2011/12 would have been very difficult for Arsenal FC. Without careful selection of replacement personnel it was going to be heartrending for those die-hard Gunners fans.

Arsene “The Stubborn” Wenger apparently has not heard the statement “You cannot win anything with Kids”, so the pass six years we have depended on some soulless youngsters who is not worthy to wear the Gunner’s shirt. So all we have to look forward to is finishing fourth. I am of the opinion that if something is not bad don’t fix it, but The Gunners have been bad for the passed seven years and needed to be overhauled. How can you say you have world class players and they cannot win anything.

We needed to get rid of many of the so call ‘potential’ and get players who were committed to the Gunner’s cause. We have many players I think should not be a part of the first team squad and should have been let go sooner rather than later. How long should a player get to prove his worth, five, six, seven years before we know that they are not going to make it. Bendtner, Vela, Denilson, Squillaci, Chamakh and Diaby come to mind.

Sometimes it is necessary to let go of so called ‘good players’ to move the team forward, the departure of Cesc and Nasri is a case in point, with those two moving on the team is beginning to gel and look like a unit that is willing to fight for each other. At the moment we look like a team that is resilient and stable, not subject to collapse when leading by 4 goals.

Can The Gunners finish in the top four from all indication we are a team on the up capable of upsetting quite a few of the the ‘mega rich boys’ and my bet is on the Gunner making it into the top four this season.
