Christmas comes but once a year, at least that’s what they say;
It comes in mid-September and it’s stale by Christmas Day.
The tinsel and the glitter seem to twinkle like a star,
But weeks and weeks and weeks of it just goes way too far.
Where has the heart of Christmas gone, the way it used to be?
The homey warmth, the easy smiles, but now it’s me, me, me.
