Q: This is not my child. I am a worried aunt. The baby ran a high fever for a day and a half, started vomiting, and had watery stool. After 3 days in the hospital they decided he has a staph infection. The child does not go anywhere and nobody comes over to his house. His twin sister did not get any from him or any illness when he did. Could poor housekeeping cause this in a baby? Did he get into something when he was not being watched? Bottom line, I love my niece and nephew and I need to know if this baby got sick because his parents or is it something that just happens.Let me restate that the child does not leave the house. He gets out maybe every few weeks. He has not been anywhere to get it. He did not have any scratches or cuts that I have seen. I hope it is something as simple as that, but I am really worried that it came from his home. I kept the other baby all weekend and when I went to get her clothing I was absolutely shocked at the condition of the house. It was horrible. I would not stay there let alone my infant. NO WAY!!!
