Take God’s Challenge

I wrote a Yahoo contributor article back on July 13 called “Are You Up To Being Tested?”

In that article I spoke about my family’s situation with a pending foreclosure and how we believed God would come through even though all those around us said it wouldn’t happen. We had family members tell us to quit. The same family members said it was inevitable that we’d have to leave our house behind.

Now, I wrote “our house” knowing full well the loan company owns a lot more of it than we do, but I also know all things ultimately belong to God. I believed (and still do) that God brought us to our home, to our community, to our church for His purposes. And I knew He wasn’t done with us yet here.

I held onto that fact and also the truth in scripture where Jesus says if I ask for anything in His name the Father will do it.

There is a qualifier in that. If it is asked in someone’s name, that thing asked for has to line up with the name of the one who is asking for it. My kids might tell the teachers at school I said they could do such-and-such, but if it goes against what I tell them, then they are wrong.

And we are wrong if we ask for things that are against God and against His principles.

I knew what I was asking for (to stay in our house) was not against God.

We could have given up, listened to those who told us to move out, and we’d be somewhere else right now wondering what could have happened if we had believed.

Praise God that didn’t happen.

We were easily able to take care of the trial period payments. And now we have a new mortgage with the company. The percentage rate is lower. The payments are lower, and the late fees from last year have been waived!

Only God could have accomplished this!

I am not some big-time holy Believer. I am just an average woman who loves the Lord and does her best to put Him first in her life. If God can answer prayers like this for me, He can do the same for you.

This kind of belief, though, takes courage, stamina and strength to believe even when everyone around you and the circumstances tell you you are wrong. In those times the only thing you can stand on that tells you you are right is God’s promises in His word. If you don’t believe the promises you won’t be able to see this process through. And if you can’t see the process through very likely your request will not happen.

God wants us to believe in Him no matter what. God wants His kids to be so strong in their faith that He can do the impossible through us. We are the only ones who stand in the way of Him doing the impossible in our lives. Doubt, fear and bitterness will keep God’s miracles at bay. Doubt, fear and bitterness will make us miserable and make our lives miserable.

Take the challenge to believe no matter what. Let me know too. I’ll pray for you. Contact me via my website found at http://JaneHinrichs.weebly.com.
