Steaming your face to get rid of acne?
Q: Ive heard that boiling water and then holding your face over the top of it with a towel draped over your head can help get rid of acne or reduce acne? Is this exfoliating? I done it last night and my face came away feeling soft and the redness had gone down a bit? How often should I do this? I heard that exfoliating too much can cause your skin to produce more oil and give you worse acne? How often should I do this? I also heard that adding a few drops of tea tree oil can help? What do you think?
A: Steaming wont work, it makes you sweat and bring more oils to the surface, therefore enhancing the problem. The only way to fix mild to moderate acne is to wash your face twice a day with a cleanser, use a cleaning toner, and a medicated night cream. If that fails, then you might need a prescription because its obviously more severe.
I just want this acne gone!?
Q: I’m a 12 year old girl, who’s been suffering with acne for like 3 years! Can you imagine that? Acne at 9 years old? It was so embarrassing! And it still is now! Nothing is working, and i just really want it gone. I really do. Im not asking for results over night. 3-4 months is perfectly alright. I have combination skin.. An oily nose, Dry cheeks, and normal chin and forehead. Sorta strange, i know. My acne is mild/moderate. Mostly small pimples, but quite a few of them. It’s the redness/inflammation that makes it look worse. Right now i have my set routine, but its not working that well. *Routine*Wash face with Nuetrogena Wave.Apply Epiduo gel. I do this in the morning and at night, except at night i just use the wave. No epiduo.Should i be using a toner? If so, suggestions please.Should i be using a moisturizer? Which one?Is the Wave a bad cleaner? What’s better for MY skin? How do i reduce redness? (It makes my acne look worse)Thanks, so much!Okay, i’m ditching the wave.I cant use Biore, it’s too harsh for epiduo.. Its says gentle cleansers only. So whats a good GENTLE cleaner?I’ve been doing this routine for 3 months.
