Fort Wayne’s Best Brewery: Mad Anthony Brewing Company

Brewing in Fort Wayne started back in 1862 with the Old Crown/Centivre Brewery. Many other breweries sprung up in the area in the coming years including Berghoff and Hauf Brau. Over the next hundred years, brewing continued in Fort Wayne producing beers like Falstaff and more recently, Warbird. With these breweries all gone now, Mad Anthony Brewing Company is only one of two breweries in the Fort Wayne area.

The Mad Anthony Brewing Company was established in Fort Wayne in 1997 by three friends, Todd Grantham, Blaine Stuckey, and Jeff Neels. Each had experience in a different area of the business and combined their talents to create one of the best atmospheres in town. Not only does Mad Anthony Brewing Company brew their own microbrews on-site, they also offer delicious pub-style food and various entertainment.

The goal of the Mad Anthony Brewing Company is to provide a unique brewing and dining experience for each guest. But as they state, “Its all about the beer”. Mad Anthony Brewing Company boasts brews like Ol Woody Pale Ale, Gabby Blonde Lager, Harry Baals Irish Stout, Auburn Lager, and Raspberry Wheat on tap. Others including Octoberfest, Snowplowed Winter Ale, Summer Daze and No. 3 Irish Red are brewed seasonally. Mad Anthony Brewing Company brews more than 50 kinds of beer and over 2,000 barrels annually.
