October Soup

October Soups’ a great warm stew
Boil some water, wait a minute or two..
Toss in a carrot, and then something green
Zuccini squash in the season that hosts Halloween
Add salt and pepper just for spice
Now sip it once. Taste it twice
Then you add an onion and potato, i say
Let it boil and simmer for most of the day
Drop in some corn, on the cobb’s always nice
Then some chicken stock for flavor, and a handful of rice.
Best part of all, when its steamy and hot
Its colors are like the falling leaves swimming in the pot.
Now the soup is ready. You can grab a bowl and say..
THERE’S NOTHING LIKE OCTOBER SOUP ON THIS FESTIVE AUTUMN DAY!!!
