Can pregnant women sleep on their back?
Q: I’m 26 weeks pregnant and SO tired of sleeping on my sides. I get extremely sore and want to sleep on my back the worst way, but heard you shouldn’t because it “can” block the blood flow to the baby, I don’t even know if that is true? I do have a body pillow, I try sleeping on the couch and prop myself up so I can be on my back at least but doesn’t do anything good for me. Ideas please 🙂

Why arent pregnant woman suppose to sleep on their back?
Q: Im 4 1/2 months pregnant, and was told to start sleeping on my side, preferably my left. I heard that it can cut off something if I sleep on my back, and I was wondering if it could affect my baby, or even severly hurt it. Also I somtimes wake up on my back, what can I do to prevent this from happening?
A: Some women have a condition where the blood flow can be cut off. This only affects a very small percentage of women but we are all told to stay off our backs because of it. Sleep anyway you are comfortable but if you feel your legs falling asleep then you need to stay off your back.
can pregnant women sleep on their backs?
Q:
A: You know, I’m 6 mos along and I fall asleep on my sides, and then end up waking up on my back, completely comfortable. With my first pregnancy, it was very uncomofortable to lay on my back. So I think it just depends on the person. I have heard it wasn’t the best position for a woman in later pregnancy, but I know for me I can’t help it when I end up rolling onto my back in my sleep! I’m sure it’ll be far more uncomfortable once I am farther along.
