A: Amen and thank you! While it is RARE, someone can have a period – a full period, not just spotting, and still be pregnant. A period is never a way to judge if you are pregnant.Again – uncommon, but not impossible.

A: Sounds strange. When a woman is pregnant, her nipples turn a brownish color. The way you described your period, it sounds like implantation bleeding. You can look it up. Can a vaginal ultrasound make you bleed ?

Q: I am 6wks 2days preggo, and started spotting, I went to my doc and he preformed a vaginal ultrasound. We saw the baby’s heartbeat, and he said everything look fine, and that spotting/bleeding while pregnant is very common. he didnt seem worried about it at all. I was just spotting before the ultrasound, but when I got home I started to bleed a little. Its almost been 24 hours and the bleeding has pretty much subsided. I was wondering if the vaginal ultrasound could be the reason why I started to bleed. I am very scared that I am having another miscarriage, but I called the doc and he inssists that everything is fine. Has anyone else had a vaginal ultrasound while pregnant and started to bleed a little afterward ?? I not talking a lot of blood, but some is too much for me. Thanks for your replies

A: Yes. I also had to have a vaginal u/s because I was spotting and they wanted to make sure everyting was ok. She told me the spotting could be from the bottom of cervix, since it doesn’t realize yet that it’s pregnant and it may shed the lining at the bottom. Also when the u/s was over she said I may see some more bleeding, if they happen to bump something…
