can doing things that you should not do when your pregnat, effect getting pregnant?
Q: like you’re not supposed to smoke, or drink caffiene, eat sushi, take certain medication.if you do those things while trying to get pregnant is it harder?
A: When I was TTC they told me absolutely no smoking, and to limit my caffeine I did and Now I’m pregnant (with the help of DH and fertility meds) Eating sushi should be a problem while TTC and it would depend on the medication I’m sure. I’d ask a doctor if you are on any meds that you are worried about. Good luck!
Help! Early pregnancy questions!!?
Q: I’m in the 11th week of my second pregnancy, but of course it is different from my first. So I have a couple of questions:1. Is there a laxative that is safe for pregnant women who just do not have bowel movements?2. When exactly is spotting normal? What if you’re not spotting, but it seems as though something is coming out when you go to the bathroom? (i know that sounds weird)3. If you’ve been dealing with stress even before you found out you were pregnant and the further along you are in your pregnancy the more depressed you seem, how do you get help before it’s too late?4. How long can you sleep on your stomach?5. Can you eat sushi while you’re pregnant?
A: 1. The constipation is caused by the iron in prenatal pills. Try eating dry fruit daily (especially apricots). Drink a lot of water and eat things high in fiber. Check with your doctor what laxatives are safe. You may just want to try something like Metamucil. 2. Some women spot during pregnancy. If you aren’t spotting blood but feel like something is coming out maybe it is mucus or discharge which is very common during pregnancy.3. Talk to your doctor right away. Stress is not good especially when you are pregnant. If you are depressed I believe there are some medication safe to take during pregnancy that can help.4. It is best to sleep on your side while pregnant. If you can’t then sleep on your stomach until it is uncomfortable. Your body will tell you when that is. 5. It depends on what kind of sushi. If it is uncooked (California roll) that is fine. If it is raw it isn’t a good idea, especially don’t eat fish high in mercury. A very small amount of tuna is alright but limit it to no more than 6 ounces once every week or two (it does contain mercury).
i’m chinese and would appreciate if you could help verify / debunked some of the myths / asian mentality?
Q: i’m chinese and would appreciate if you could help verify / debunked some of the myths / asian mentality that we have to abide when pregnant.to the japanese – can or will u eat raw sushi / sashimi when pregnant?to the french – do you drink wine when you’re pregnant? to the hawaiian – do you eat pineapples when you’re pregnant? cos the fruit is known to have a ‘cooling’ effect and therefore not good for the womb.thanks a lot!
A: you are not supposed to eat anything raw especially fish when you are pregnant because you could have a allergic reaction or get salmonella and get very very sick…you are not supposed to drink alcohol at all but if you do you are only suppose to drink about 4oz a day but most doctors will tell you not to even to that because of the risks for you baby in the long run…including premature birth…low birth weight and birth defects…..and you CAN eat pineapple….there is nothing wrong with eating that at all…….the cooling effect is just a myth or some sort of old wives tale….there is no scientific evidence about eating pineapple….i eat a lot of it when i was pregnant and i had a healthy 6lb baby girl….if you have similar questions i would go to webmd.com or ask you obgyn. :)))
