parents, what are your thought on this situation?
Q: here’s the situationI work with at risk young adults and parents who are dealing with the child proctection agency in my area. Recently we have come across a young mother in a rather difficult situation. This young woman was raised in a horrible home. She endured years of extreme sexual abuse at the hands of her father. He had been using her and her older brother to act out his sexual fantasies. The girl has been having full penetrative intercourse since she was five with both her brother and her father. The children where isolated from society and neither knew anything other than the life of a sex toy. They where also repeatidly beaten and restrained, sometimes secured to the floor with restraints and held there for days. When the girl was 11 she was able to tell another family member what had been going on. The child protection agency in their home town went to investigate the home. They somehow got convinced that the older brother had been the one doing the abuse and took him out of the home, leaving the girl alone with her father. The daughter again told another family member when she was 13. The agency then removed her but after an investigation they decided that she had lied and forced her to move back in with her abusive father. For the next 4 years things got much worse. The father became much more violent and his sexual fantasies became much more perverse. The girl endured some of the most horrible experiences you can imagine. She spent those years thinking she was deserving of her life since no one cared to help her. The emotional toll was worse then the phisycal and sexual abuse. At 17 she got a chance to escape. She found a ride to the closest city and got sucked into prosititution. She spent the next 4 years selling her body to survive, facing countless beatings and assaults. At 21 she got pregnant and decided to try and straighten her life out. She was doing a great job until her second child was born. Her first had been a boy and the second a girl. Having the dynamics of a brother/sister relationship to deal with sent her into a emotional downward spiral. ALl the sexual feelings she had experienced as a child came back to haunt her. She had never had any positive sexual experiences and to her love equaled sex. She found herself feeling sexualy attracted to her children. After fighting off the urges on her own she turned to the child protective services to help her keep her children safe. The children where removed until she was able to prove that she would not do to them what was done to her. She has been working on it for four years now and has a much more positive view of herself and her past. She has worked through her sexual feelings towards her children and has proven that she is no longer a risk to her kids. She got her children back after two years. She is now fighting to have her file closed but the agency is unwilling. They are threatening to bring her back to court to keep it opened. We are trying to help her fight this. She has proven herslef again and again. She has regained the right to be full parental guardian and the previous court rulling have said that she is good to go. She doesn’t want to go back through the courts and risk loosing access to her children again. We have run out of ideas on how to help this mother. It seems that the child protection agency won’t accept that she is better. She is the one that went to them for help and has proven that she is fully aware of the danger of her deviant thoughts and is actively working to keep them at bay. This poor mom just wants a chance at being normal.so i am asking two things.1-what are your opinions on the situation2-what are some things we could be doing to help her more
A: Wow, that is tragic. I got nothin.
please help with advice on this situation?

A: I want to understand what she will gain if her file is closed. Does that mean CPS won’t be watching her from time to time? Maybe it is too soon even though she has been through the process.I think after the Jaycee Dugard case CPS wants to monitor people very closely. I’m glad she has been responsible towards her children and worked hard to turn her life around. Kudos to her and those who helped her. I hope she gets a special present for Christmas.

She has a psychiatrist and a counsellor form the sexual assault support center. She has been evaluated by the court ordered pschologist and her family has been evaluated by the courts too. She has proven she is capable of caring for the children which is how she regained custody. She is aware that she will always need supports and has acceptd that there will always be some level of involment from outside agencies. We are just trying to find a way to not go back to the courts to have her file with the child protwection agency closed. We are not asking for an end to all involment with the family, just a chance to clear her name.i don’t work for the CRA, I work at a drop=in center for lower income families. She is a client we have been helping for some time now.I ahve no special qualifications, i am not her shrink, her social worker, her anytihg really. I am just a drop-in worker trying to come up with ideas to help a client.I am not using Y!A to keep her supervised, I am a worker siting at home on my day off trying to brainstorm ideas for a client
