Can you get pregnant the 7th day after your peroid is over?
Q: Can you get pregnant on the 7th day after your peroid? For example: I got my peroid on the 23rd, it ended on the 30th and I had sex on the 7th of May? My peroid is 7 days late! Should I still wait? Or am I not pregnant?
A: When you count for ovulation times, you are supposed to start counting with the FIRST day of your period, not the last. So technically, for you, May 7th would have been exactly 14 days after your period…not 7.You can get pregnant at any time. Typically, you will only ovulate 14 days before the start of your period, (which for most people is also 14 days AFTER the start of your last period),but that doesn’t mean it’s a definite.Sometimes our bodies ovulate at weird times during a cycle. If your period id late AND you had sex on the 14th day, I would take a pregnancy test right now.
if you have a irregular peroid, are your fertile days still 14 days after the first day of your peroid?
Q: Trying to get pregnant but its hard cause i don’t know when im fertile because i have a irregular period. I know for a person that has a regular its 14 days after the first day they come on there period. Can someone please help me.
A: I have an irregular period and my fertile days were never on CD 14. My cycles range between 30 days and 33 days. I normally would ovulate between CD 16 – CD 19 depending on the month. A great way to track your cycle is to either get a basal body thermometer($9 @ walmart) or track your cycle based on your cervical mucus. I personally feel that ovulation testing kits are a waist of money on (about $20-$30 / kit) especially if you don’t know when to use them so that they work. I personally did better with the basal body thermometer. We tried to conceive for about 6 months with out any help and then tried the thermometer. I tracked my temp for 3 months and after I found out exactly when to expect my ovulation date and understood how to read my body temp we tried the next month and got pregnant. I would recommend that you get about 2-3 months of body temps to see when your ovulating if your cycle differs from month to month so that you can understand what happens to your temp before, during, and after you ovulate.
