If someone uses spermicidal lube, birth control and pulls out with a condom on how effective?
Q: She could juss gimme neck afterwards or a hand-job. I try to be my smartest when it comes to this stuff.
A: i think you are pretty set not getting pregnant with BC and Spermicidal Lube and the condom. i really do not think you even need to pull out.. just make sure the condom stays on you will be set.
how effective are spermicidal condoms?
Q: i think the brand may be life styles..im not sure… but how effective are they? does the spermicidal lube really help kill the sperm and if the condom were to break does the spermicidal lube also help protect as backup??
A: My doc tells me that they are more effective than condoms alone (a good feature since I am taking meds that would be a problem for a fetus). However, if you absolutely can’t get pregnant, you need to use two forms of birth control and spermicidal and condoms is still ONE form. If the condom breaks, there is less chance that sperm will escape alive, but no guarantee. Both of you should have your own forms of birth control!
Question about spermicidal lube as alternative to condoms?
Q: I am getting married in a few months and after we are married, my guy does not want to use condoms anymore. I dont want to do the pill/patch/shot or anything like that because I dont want side effects and I just dont like the idea of messing with my hormones. Anyways, someone suggested to me spermicidal lube (specifically GYNOL II ) as an alternative in addition to pulling out. Im wondering if anyone has actually had experience using this as a method of birth control and how effective it is? THANK YOU
A: I’m pretty sure that what the person above said is right – it’s meant to be used in addition to condoms. The statistics I’ve seen on that kind of contraceptives seem to be only around the 70-80% safe rate – so there’s a lot of possibility for mistakes (condoms and pills are 99%). Have you thought about using a diaphragm? (It goes over your cervix) it allows the guy to ejaculate inside you and I think it has a pretty high success rate of blocking pregnancies, especially if used with the spermicide. You just need to learn how to fit it properly. If you guys can’t make the barrier ones work, and don’t want to use hormones, then you could investigate IUDs, but if you don’t like that either then you’ll have to be very careful otherwise you could well end up with a kid.
