Q: When I was 16, I had a little baby girl. Even though I was to young, and not ready to be a parent, i still was overjoyed. Unfortunately, her father wasn’t. He still isn’t today. He abandoned me and my 3 wk old, and left us to suffer. My mother kicked me out the house, and I was left to live with my grandmother. Fortunately, she was retired and she could stay at home to look after my daughter Anastasia. Another fortunate matter is, I made good grades in school, which got me a full scholarship to Spelman College, therefore, my grandmother didn’t have to pay for me to go to college. Well, to get to the story, about a year ago, I was at a restaurant with my two daughters (the second daughter came later on), and I happen to spot Anastasia’s father, the one who had abandoned her. At first, I didn’t know how to react. Should I confront him, walk up to him, what. I didn’t know what to do, until I saw a teenager, about the age of 17 holding hands with him. Looked to be about 7 months pregnant! First thing that popped in my mind,”What the hell.” Me being so caught up with my thoughts, I hadn’t noticed that my then 3 year old had knocked her food on the floor. Which of course, her being a toddler, made a big deal. Which caused everyone to look at us. After the waiter and I cleaned up the mess, and sat down . I looked over at him again, and he was looking DIRECTLY AT ME. Straight in my eyes, because he wasn’t that far. Then he looked at both of my daughters, looked back at me, then looked away. At that point, I wanted to throw my food across the room and hit him in the head. But that would’ve been unlady like, and childish, and it would only bring trouble. I was sure it was him to, because I remember what he looked like, and the tattoo an this arm was there! I really don’t know what to do.
