A: i’ve never been pregnant, but had a couple times where i was late enough to warrant testing. the only thing that would stop me from thinking about what the result could possibly be,was to drown out that stress with the stress of everyday life. sure enough, i stopped worrying and my period came.i betting that i’ll have to do the same thing when i want a positive result, lol!try relaxing baths, or meditation. that helps a lot of people too.
Can stress hurt you or your baby when you’re pregnant?
Q: I’m 8 weeks pregnant and I have a lot of stress. I heard it could cause bad things to the baby is that true? I have lots of problems and no one to talk to. My husband will be in Iraq when this baby is born, I don’t know anyone here, I have 2 other kids ages 3 and 19 months, I just don’t know how to handle myself anymore.
A: I have an anxiety disorder and my family doctor is also my OB and she said that in extreme cases stress and anxiety can hurt the baby. It may cause premature labor, low birth weight, etc. But if you can contain it and keep it as well contained as possible at least you shouldn’t have any problems. My baby is doing just fine and I am 22 weeks. I have no other kids and my husband is only gone when at work so I can’t say I know how you feel. But it has to be tough with 2 kids and your hubby being gone. Try a pregnancy yoga even if its at home, or try to give youself at least 15-30 minutes a day of relaxation. I hope everything goes well. And congrats on the little one!

But did it happen to you, stress and fights with hubby( verbal not physical) and you screamed and kicked and were left shaking. You were seething for days after that, but the baby was fine, didnt start kicking or worse..and you didnt end up with an increase blood pressure or anything? Please be honest and please no advices about staying stress free sometimes its not in our hands…Please help me
A: I had a very very stressful first trimester between the odd fight with my now husband and fighting with mostly my older brothers because of me being pregnant.I was scared like you but I assure you, my baby was healthy (minus a genetic stomach problem, which could not have been prevented). I would suggest to keep the stress levels down but you’re right, it is sometimes out of our hands. If you are still concerned and nervous and the fights are frequent, I would speak with your doctor for a stress test.
