Q: Does birth control prevent pregnancy 100% of the time?Should I still use a condom even if I’m on birth control?
A: Birth control is not 100% effective. Birth control pills + condoms are not 100% effective. If you are monogomous, good about taking your pills on schedule and willing to accept a VERY small risk of pregnancy (fewer than 1% of women on the pill will have an unplanned pregnancy each year, if they use them correctly), then you don’t need condoms. If you want the extra security of a second method, or there is any chance of STDs, continue to use a condom.

Q: I’m planning on having a child not any time soon maybe 5 years or more. I was wondering If I should take birth control or just use condoms? Is there any type of birth control you would recommend? I just want everything to be healthy when I’m ready to have a baby.
A: Talk to your gynecologist or a health care professional at a family planning center. Some women are not candidates for birth control pills but there are a variety of other forms of birth control available to you (besides condoms) so it is best if you get checked out first. Good luck!
if you are on birth control pills should your partner still use a condom?
Q: im on birth control pills and my partner would rather have sex without them. is the pill enough or is it still a risk????
A: Birth control pills are effective 99.9% of the time. There are TONS of people who have gotten pregnant, even though they were on the pill. And also, the pill does not protect against STDs like herpes and warts and such. If you guys have been tested for STDs and you guys don’t have any, than great! But if you guys haven’t been tested, than you can’t be sure. Using a condom and birth control pills at the same time pretty much garauntee that you won’t get pregnant. Just do whatever you feel is right… if you guys haven’t been tested for STDs, than I suggest you use a condom as well.
