Natural Ways to Avoid Heartburn during pregnancy? Food to Eat? Foods to Avoid?
Q: What are some natural ways to avoid heartburn during pregnancy? Are there certain foods I can eat? Certain foods I can avoid? I know to eat Tums/Rolaids, but I would like some other suggestions to minimize and avoid heartburn. Thanks!
A: oranges and lemons are very alkaline, and not acid producing, avoid or eat very little red meats, trim fat from all meats….there are lots of acid verses alkaline food charts on line, avoid sugary things such as baked treats.Sometimes regardless of how natural and well you eat you may still get heartburn…good luck
To eat or not to eat – foods to avoid during pregnancy?
Q: I realise some of the answers this question will recieve will be just rumours and not factually true but i am curious as to what foods shouldnt be eaten or should be eaten in moderation during pregnancy and if those foods differ during different trimesters.I have read that peanuts shouldn’t be eaten at all because they can lead to allergies in the baby. I’ve also heard honey (but havnt heard why), a limit of 2 cups of tea per day, raw eggs and fish, and soft cheese. I’m also not sure about FETA cheese? Is that ok to eat cause i eat a lot.Just want to say these are all things that i have heard and not actually been told by a doctor so for those of you who are pregnant dont skip the honey and peanuts until you have checked with your doc! (and im in Australia, not usa)
A: It’s helpful to remember that when pregnant, all you put into your body can get passed to the baby, so it’s important to eat healthily and avoid alcohol and too much caffiene. Also, you want to avoid anything that could possible give you food posioning, as this could be very dangerous for being you are the baby (that’s things like uncooked egg, soft cheese). It’s hard to remember everything, so I would suggest using your common sense and trying to eat a balanced diet.
