I had a positive pregnancy tests a few days ago and now I have a negative test. What does this mean?

Q: I took one pregnancy test in the evening and it was positive. I was surprised, so I took another one and again it was positive. My doctor confirmed the next day that I was indeed pregnant. The last couple of days I had a discharge with a pink tinge, not red blood but pink on the tissue. I again took twwo pregnancy test around 6pm and it they are now both negative? Does this mean that I have miscarried? I have not gotten my period.Thanks for all your replys. Today I got my period, its just like any other first day of getting your period…backache, cramps, the whole nine. So, I guess I had a miscarriage. I will see my doctor on monday. Again, thanks.

A: Your hcg levels must return to pre pregnacy levels before the bleeding will begin, from my personal experience it sounds as if your are experiencing an early loss. In losses that our later on in pregnancy the levels will not drop til after the fetus is expelled but this early they drop before bleeding. Your body treats a loss this early like a period. Call your doctor and talk to him. You should be able to reach some one anytime. Most offices have an emergency number. However if you are miscarring this early there is nothing they can do. Tyry taking another test in the am, hcg levels are always higher in the am.
