A: This takes shit-faced to a whole new level! Butt I wouldn’t do it. Here’s why:http://darwinawards.com/darwin/darwin2007-13.html. This was confirmed by the D.A. a man essentially embalmed himself via alcohol enema. Alcohol can be fatal, as we all know. but without the normal digestive processes, puking, etc, the body can’t guage it’s own intoxication, making it iimpossible to know when too much is too much. You save urself the unpleasantries, but those annoyances are actually survival mechanisms. Here are the other resources I found:Snopes did a piece on this subject (also applicable to vodka tampons): http://www.snopes.com/risque/kinky/vodka.asphttp://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=47499 Video discussionhttp://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=674871 Article/forumHope this helps! Is he bipolar? How does alcohol affect someone who is bi polar?
Q: I’ve been suspecting that my husband is bipolar for a while now for the following reasons, lets see if I can break them down:He has severe anger at times, and can come litteraly out of nowhere. He’ll go for a week or two or sometimes more, although not more than a month, seemingly depressed (for validated reasons I suppose, not just for “nothing”). But when we have a problem, or he does, for ex. a financial problem, he doesnt get the usual “down, but move on and do something about it” attitude, he just gets down, and realy, realy down. Will usualy drink a couple days to a week or more streight over it. When drinking, he is almost never happy. Quite the opposite. Gets very angry, says mean things. Alcohol makes him a different person. And a little bit of liqour affects him more than me and Im quite small. He gets these extreme, EXTREME hyper moments. Some mornings wakes up hyper as hell, worse than my 3 yr old. Im a quiet person usualy at home, so it drives me crazy. Then some mornings wakes up so angry and mean and depressed-like. Never just neutral/normal I guess. I hope I explained my self well, i didnt want to go on too long here. What do you think? Does anyone have bp disorder and thinks this may be it? Or know someone? Ive mentioned it to him but he only gets angry. He’ll never seek help since he doesnt think he has a problem. But its hurting my marriage because I cant basicaly stand him anymore.
A: Sounds like it to me. Alcohol is a depressant and so it feeds the fire if he’s on a downward slope and calms him if he’s flying. It’s a symptom of manic depression to self-medicate with all kinds of things but most commonly alcohol. If he’s refusing to see someone, then there’s really nothing you can do. Educate yourself. There’s no cure. It takes someone dedicated to staying healthy to succeed in treatment which ideally includes meds and talk therapy. Suicide can be a huge danger. I would suggest at the very least that you seek counseling. You’re going to need support- whatever you do and help dealing with your husband and help getting your child through the situation. I wish you peace.
