Why did people fear the establishment of a strong federal government in the late 18th-century?
Q: Why did people fear the establishment of a strong federal government in the late 18th-century? Why do some fear it today?
A: They fear it today for the same reason they feared it back then. The founding fathers came from a country that had a strong central government. If the Federal government is too strong then it can enforce any laws that it decides to make and can lead to a dictatorship or Fascist/Communistic government. That is why the founding fathers set up the constitution to have a system of checks and balances in the federal system and set the states up to govern anything that is not governed by the federal government. If one branch of the government is too powerful then they can make their own rules.
Why do people fear the car dealers service department?
Q: I read so many questions about what is wrong with my car. And why didn’t the part the parts person at the generic auto parts store sold me fix my car. Why do people fear taking their car to the dealership for repairs? Most of them fix it right the first time, and guarantee their work. Sure it may cost more, but there is a reason for it. Dealerships send their service personnel to specialized training for their vehicles. They typically service all makes and models, but specialize in the brand they sell. So they are more likely to know the common problems of that particular brand. And why not bring your vehicle back for its minor maintenance as well. If you have a major problem just out of warranty, but have been a good customer in the past they are more willing to work with you and get you some after warranty assistance.I can’t count the number of times a customer has come in after spending $100’s on a simple problem that “Joe Bob” didn’t know how to fix.
A: God, I wish more people thought like you do. Did I mention I am a tech at a Chevy dealership? Also, did I mention that I DON’T rip my customers off? Really, there are good dealerships and bad dealerships, but most dealerships are pretty decent. On the whole, I would say the same percent of dealerships are crooked as independent shops. If you’re worried about getting ripped off, check with the better business bureau, and if you think they’re feeding you a line, get a second opinion! Dealership parts are expensive because they’re better than aftermarket parts! $100 dollar brake jobs are cheap because they are usually done wrong by pimply faced losers who don’t know how to check their oil, much less do your brake job right. I can’t begin to count how many brakes plus brake jobs I’ve had to re-do. I think we should put up a sign that says “we fix $100 brake jobs” Cars cost money to fix. If you can’t afford it, ride the stupid bus.Edit: Warranty labor times are generally 60-75% of customer pay, not 2 to 3 times less. Don’t get me wrong, I do prefer customer pay though. Moreover, if I don’t go by the book on labor, I’ll get fired. I’m not a crook, so I wouldn’t do it anyway.
Why do people fear the unknown or diverse?
Q: Big Question time. Why do people fear the unknown or diverse.I’m talking changeI’m talking colourI’m talking sexual preferenceHey and let’s not forget religion. There is many a more to add to the list but i want to know why do people fear the diverse, the different and the changing?Fear = anger + hate = pain in one way or another.I would love to hear some real thoughtful & insightful answers to this one please.Nope, no confusion at all.FEAR!Esoteric please.
A: It’s all really fear of change and that comes from experience normally. Most people get kicked in the teeth by life time and time again, so they associate change with kicks in the teeth. If nine out of ten changes in your life are for the worse, you can’t help but be pessismistic, you therefore come to believe any change will equal change for the worse and therefore try to keep the status quo, preserve what you have now (to stop it getting any worse), conserve it (like a conservative).Problem really is that for the vast majority of people, life isn’t getting better, it’s getting worse! Things used to be equally good and bad, nowadays it’s mostly bad!Take your morning post; you’ll have ten items say, at least three will be junk (neutral), one might be good (positive- you have won 5p on premium bonds) and for most people ALL the rest will be bad (negative: You owe the bank, here is your bill, your test results are bad etc etc)Most of this bad news is generated by other people that take delight in inflicting it on their neighbours; but then the same people wonder why people are so miseable and why they fear change.Everyone would love to be positive, no one likes being negative and miserable, they want to preserve what little bit of happiness they have left and that means protecting themselves from ANYTHING which is different or they do not understand; in truth can you blame them? When you build a tower-block you start with good foundations; your question should be: What can we do to make people more happy, positive and accepting?
