P90X: The Equipment

So your box of P90X DVD’s arrived on your porch. Before you start Bringing it, you will need to think about some equipment to enhance the workouts and get the most from the program. The results will come and you will be really happy!

Television: I am sure you have this already as well has the other 100 million people, who get their news and entertainment from the box. Some might still have the CRT screens, but most likely you have a Plasma, LCD or DLP. At Fit Club, we have a huge wall to project a workout, which is pretty cool. My cousin works out in front of her 60″ Flat Screen. I have an old 36″ CRT that weighs over 200 lbs DVD Player: A basic DVD player will do. Have your remote control ready to rewind, so you watch and repeat the moves, or most likely pause to catch your breath! Resistance Bands or Weights: Resistance is key to getting stronger. Heck, if you need to, use a set of milk jugs, cans of soup, your cat, your dog, or your child! Pull Up Bar: You remember doing corn rolls. Some kind of bar will be needed to pull yourself up for that back of yours. You can also hang the resistance bands if needed, especially when traveling. Chair: Speaking of doing pull ups, I don’t know how I could have ever do a single pull up with out some assistance. Having assistance will improve your form. Also you might have used them for Leg Swings! Yoga Mat: Having extra cushion for your knees are such a big help! Push up stands: Those extra inches make for a great push up. Yoga Block(s): I still use them, so I don’t fall down. Water: You will sweat as usual, and you need to stay hydrated Towel: To wipe off the flop sweat! Workout Clothes: Wear the appropriate shirt or top. I prefer the performance wicking cloths. The same goes for the performance shorts and socks. Cotton does not wick as well and your clothes will stick to you. A Wall: Your quads are going to love you in Legs and Back! Workout Sheets: to keep track of your progress. This time I did 20 pushups or I did 15 reps at 20 lbs. Next time I will do 21 pushups or 15 reps at 25 lbs. Pencil: So you can write down the number of reps and weight you used, so you can do a little more the next time! Washing Machine: To wash your smelly sweaty clothes.

The following is completely optional but you will eventually need to measure progress:

Scale: Basically, how much do you weigh? remember muscle weighs more than fat. Body Fat Caliper: How much body fat do you have? Measuring Tape: How many inches have you grown or lost? Blood Pressure Monitor: Has your blood pressure gone up for down? And are you in your target zone. Runners Hat: Or something to wipe with to keep the sweat out of your eyes.

The most important equipment is you. Write down your goals, focus and Bring it! For yourself!
