The Most Wonderful Christmas Eve

As I was sitting on my bed about to go to sleep, my boyfriend Zane texted me asking me on a date on Christmas Eve and I accepted. The date was about a week later and every night until the date I went through my closet and tried to find the perfect outfit. Zane and I had been together for about three years and I fell in love with him. Neither of us has said it, but I really did love him. I wasn’t so sure if he loved me or was just keeping me around and I hoped he loved me.

I have been hoping that he would propose to me for about four months. Every time he wanted to go on a date I always wore amazing clothes hoping he would ask me. This date was no different than the other except that it was on Christmas Eve. I finally picked out a cute red dress I had bought a couple of months before in a small California boutique. The dress went to mid-thigh and slanted left down to the knee. It had sequences and ruffles around the top and spaghetti straps. I picked out stiletto heels which had a dangling design that lies on the top of my foot.

About 10 o’clock Christmas Eve, Zane showed up in his purple Camaro. He looked stunning in his perfectly fitted jeans and dress shirt. He had a suit jacket over the shirt. He had a pair of Oakley sunglasses on and looked perfect to me. I asked him where he was taking me and he said it’s a surprise. He walked me from the front door to the car and even opened the door for me.

We drove for about an hour and finally we pulled up at a theatre. Zane helped me out of the car and walked me into the theatre. He took me up on stage where a gorgeous table was set up. He pulled my seat out for me and said he would be right back. When he came back there was a waiter carrying drinks and salads.

I asked Zane what it was all for and he just said for you. We ate our salads and the entrée came out. The entrée was prime rib, mashed potatoes, and mixed greens. I loved it and the experience. When we were done with that he said he was going to go get the dessert. Right when I saw him coming back I heard something coming from the back row of the theatre.

I heard familiar words that made me cry immediately. “It’s a beautiful night; we’re looking for something dumb to do. Hey baby, I think I wanna marry you. Is it the look in your eyes, or is it this dancing juice? Who cares baby, I think I wanna marry you.” Zane had brought a little velvet box from the back and the choir in the back of the theatre got quieter. They were just background music. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

Of course I said yes to this. He slid the ring on my finger and stood up smiling a big cheesy smile. He took me in his arms and right as soon as the clock struck midnight he kissed me like never before. For me it was the best Christmas Eve ending and the best start of Christmas.
