Edible Arrangements are a beautiful bouquet of flowers made from fruit. This is a unique gift for a special friend or the office party. The arrangements are crafted with stunning beauty. I truly enjoyed the look on my children’s faces when I brought an arrangement home for Christmas. The prices range from $15 for a simple box of chocolate dipped delicacies to $60 for a bouquet that serves four. Party sized bouquets cost up to $120.

Classic Brownies

These brownies are a delicious homemade gift for anybody, including teachers, kids, friends or family. Once you start eating them you won’t stop.

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit ( 325 for dark metal pans or glass) 2. Grease a 9 x 13 pan 3. Melt eight 1-ounce squares of unsweetened chocolate and one cup of butter in a sauce pan over low heat; set aside. 4. In a mixer, beat five eggs, three cups of sugar and one tablespoon of vanilla at high speed for ten minutes 5. Blend in chocolate mixture, 1 ½ cups of flour and one teaspoon of salt until barely mixed. Stir in 1 cup of chopped, lightly toasted almonds or pecans. 6. Bake for 30-40 minutes 7. Let cool and enjoy!

Rum Cake

Who does not like to receive a delicious rummy Bundt cake at Christmas? I love to make and eat this with good friends during the holidays. The cost for ingredients is $15 depending on which rum is bought. Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. 2. Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan. 3. Sprinkle one cup of chopped walnuts evenly over bottom of the pan. 4. In large bowl, combine one (18.25 ounce) package of yellow cake mix and one (3.4 ounce) package of instant vanilla pudding mix. Mix in four eggs, ½ cup of water, ½ cup vegetable oil and ½ cup of rum. Blend well. 5. Pour batter over the nuts in pan. Let sit ten minutes, before baking for 60 minutes. 6. Let sit 10 minutes before adding glaze. 7. Brush glaze over top and sides, let soak into cake. 8. Glaze-combine ½ cup butter, ¼ cup water, and one cup sugar in a saucepan. Bring to boil in medium heat at let boil for five minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in ½ cup rum.
