Private Ingrown toenail surgery in uk?
Q: I have an ingrown toenail, how much would it cost for me to go to podiatrist and have it treated, private not NHS.I have to sit my GCSEs exams in a month and i don’t want to be in lots of pain as special consideration only increases your marks by 5% which is woefully inadequate. The NHS waiting times are so long, how would i contact a podiatrist/chiropodist privately, and how much would it cost to get treatment?I can’t afford private health insurance by the way.
A: Private podiatrist/chirpodist should charge you no more than £50 and you won’t have to wait months for an NHS appointment. Check your Yellow Pages directory under Podiatrist or Chiropodists and give your nearest practitioner a call. You probably will get an appointment within days.
Ingrown toenail surgery questions?
Q: So i’ve played soccer since the age of 4 and i’m now 15. Since i was 6 i’ve been getting infected ingrown toenails on each big toe every year. I’d soak it in warm water and then stick a safety pin in it to get the puss out and it would go away w/ in a week. but this year i have the worst ingrown toenail i’ve ever had, its lasted for over a week and i sooo painful. i’m still playing soccer though bc its mostly my left foot so i dont use it as much. i have an appointment w/ the podiatrist tomorrow and am planning to get surgery on my toes. first of all if i get get surgery on both sides of both big toes about how much is the cost?? also, how long will they take to heal?? i read online that you can resume normal activity the next day. is this true? how long untill i can resume soccer??
A: i have the exact same problem so i am searching for awnsers myself. as for cost it depends on your health plan, it should be covered, i figure it will take about a week or so to heal. resuming normal activity i say take it little by little this is what i will do, and soccer i really think you should hold off on for a good few months, you dont want to re-injure yourself. hope you feel better because i know how painfull this is
