To DROP or NOT to drop? That is the question…?
Q: Mehmet Mothaf’in Okur. (on my fantasy team of course…)I mean, he’s in Turkey and I feel for the stats he puts up (which ain’t spectacular at all), he’s only highly-rated because he’s a big man putting up those numbers… and NBA big men… tend to suck.I just lost 10-1 this week largely in part to HIM, Josh Smith, Jason Richardson, and Andrei Kirilenko being injured. (even though he isn’t really injured…)Barbosa, Odom, Oden, Foye, Beno Udrih, Roger Mason, Kenyon Martin, Marquis Daniels, Chris Duhon, Jameer Nelson, Ridnour, Anthoyn Morrow (lol), and Ramon Sessions are all available.I don’t necessarily NEED to get a center because my other three center-eligible players for the two center spots are Troy Murphy, Shaq, and Amare.
A: Don’t drop him right now.You should wait a week or two to see if there are any news about Okur.——————————————
When you really think about it, the best place for LeBron to go next year is Dallas?
Q: The term is “having your cake, and eating it too.”LeBron has already said that the only teams he’d really consider going to would be:Cleveland – New York – New Jersey – Chicago – Miami – Los Angeles – DallasNow obviously, he could just agree to stay in Cleveland and make 6 years/$125 million, but how competent is his GM? His big move this offseason was getting 40-year-old Shaq, who really doesn’t do anything to help the team, and the Cavs are realistically only the 3rd best team in the East still. So it would make the most sense for LeBron to go somewhere else byA) LeavingB) Demanding a sign and tradeso let’s look at the other teams:New York and New Jersey: Neither of these teams can do much to sign and trade him, so they’d have to hope he just comes to them for 5 years/$91 million. Both of those teams suck though, doesn’t seem worth losing $30 million to go to a worse team.Chicago and Miami: Both teams have the cap space to get him for $91 million, or could somehow miraculously get him in a sign and trade. The problem is neither team has anything Cleveland would really agree to for the sign and trade. They could be a great team, but still, if he does end up on the same team as Wade, he’ll probably only be making $91 million compared to Wade making $125 million. If you’re LeBron, are you willing to put your ego aside to make $30 million less and possibly not be considered the leader? His ego is too big. If he were to somehow get with Wade via sign and trade and they both make $125 million, the team would be gutted, and those 2 alone with scrubs couldn’t win a championship.Los Angeles: I don’t think Los Angeles really has anything to offer in a sign and trade except Bynum, but if you’re Cleveland, are you willing to take on his $30 million over the next 2 years and see him get injured over and over? Plus do you really think LeBron could manage to co-exist with Kobe, much like the Wade scenario above? And that finally leaves Dallas. Dallas has the contracts to get Cleveland to agree to the sign and trade. (Instant cut from Dampier and Howard’s contract = $35 million in cap relief to pick up another superstar possibly, or a few great players.)So if you’re LeBron, why wouldn’t you want to go to a team that’s already winning 55 games, where you could get a max contract, play with another superstar in Dirk, play with Kidd who you’re good friends with, and have an owner who has the money to give you everything you could ever want while you’re playing for his team?Dallas is a top 5 media market, and he can still make his 6 years/$125 million, but on a good team.LeBron isn’t making $30 million less than someone in his prime to not be considered the best player on the team potentially…and there’s no way the “3 headed monster” goes to Miami – they’d take up 90+% of the salary cap – those 3 + scrubs can’t win a championship
A: Can all of your teams give a Knicks a chance ?
Should I hold onto Mehmet OKUR?

A: I don’t know how long he’s gonna be over in Turkey. But Marquis Daniels would be a good pickup I think.
