Brain cancer:The Doctors are sending my brother in-law home to die.He has 12 tumors in his brain,?
Q: we found out that he had cancer because there was a black spot on his heal, the cancer went from there into his lymp notes and after that it spread to his lungs and his brain his has 8 tumors in his lungs,he also gets back headacks and sometime he can’t see,his motor skills are also going,he says that he wants to die at home so we are getting a care team together for him and our family is going to be part of it,My question is how long can he go on like this and what should we exspect from it,IE is he going to be in alot of pain more than what he is in now ,is there going to be a change in his moods? just wondering that’s all.
A: HelloSorry to here about your brother in law. I can only go from my experience. We had hospice to help us care for a family member who also had terminal brain cancer. I don’t think there’s any easy way to tell how long he will live. Its a day by day thing. The hospice nurses will be able to tell you what is going on and how he is doing. My family member was in allot of pain and the nurses were great, they didn”t let her suffer. The problem is in order to control the pain the narcotics make them sleep and their not very with it when they are awake, but its better than the pain. I didn’t see any mood changes and she went quietly in her sleep. Hope this helps…Its very hard to watch someone you love die but also brings everyone close and I think makes it easier to let the person go. God Bless…
what types of rays do neurologists use to heal tumours or cancer in a persons brain?
Q: do they use gamma rays or x rays to stop the tumour or the cancer in a persons brain. And could you also please explain how the rays the neurologists use stop the tumours or the cancer in a persons brain from growing. How do the rays effect the tumours and the cancer to heal them. Thank you
A: Just to understand – gamma rays and x-rays are the same thing, just produced differently. Gamma rays are a product of the the radioactive decay of an element. X-rays are generated in an X-ray tube. Side by side, if you could see them, you would not be able to tell them apart.Cancer treatment is performed using x-ray machines. It allows for the generation of very focused beam of radiation, and a very precise control of level and duration, therefore less collateral damage to surrounding good tissue. Often you get a tattoo on your body to mark the spot for repeated therapy sessions. The direction of gammas from radioactive decay is not controllable.
What is a story you can share about Cancer?
Q: My baby sister was told she has brain ,lung ,and breast cancer !she will not except it they done a scan on her brain and she was clear in the brain I know we have a healing in works here with her ,does anyone get very very weah from chemo ?I thank each of you understand I don’t know how I got this in the dog section but oh well I think everyone understood and thanks again .But thanks so much for your replys
A: Chemo is horrible. I had a nephew that went through chemo treatments for just over a year and he had a really hard time. Everything hurts and it is just not a pleasant experience. Your sister is going to need a lot of help and a lot of encouragement. Chemo is basically poison meant to kill off the cancer, but the problem is it attacks every part of the body, not just the cancer. The result is pain and sensitivity everywhere. Nausea, headaches, you name it. I wish you and your sister the best of luck.
