How do you get rid of a boil? Do they scare after wards?
Q: I woke up yesterday morning and I thought I had a hive on my forehead. I am in the process of figuring out what kind of an allergy I have, my thought was wrong thou, I later asked my older sister if the hive on my forehead looked different then normal? She replied, ” That’s not a hive, it’s a boil.” Okay so I have never had a boil before and I don’t know much about them. My brother-in-law had one on his buttocks and my mom had one on her arm, come to find out that neither one of them know how they cured it. Is there anything more I can do other then keep it clean and don’t touch it on stuff? I have heard that they scare. Is it true? Mine again is on my forehead in a very uncomfortable area. I don’t want it to scare, that would make my confidence level drop alot more. If any advice or comments or clues, maybe just something to calm my nerves, it would all be helpful and highly appreciated.
A: Boil (or furuncle) is a skin infection caused by hair follicles, resulting in the localized accumulation of pus (usually with a centralised core that must be eventually removed) and dead tissue. Individual boils can cluster together and form an interconnected network of boils called carbuncles.Causes:Usually, the cause is bacteria such as staphylococci. Bacterial colonization begins in the hair follicles and can lead to local cellulitis and abscess formation.Treatment:Applying warm compresses to a boil can help it to drain. Boils can also be treated with black ointment, which is a drawing salve based on ammonium bituminosulfonate, which allows the boil to mature sooner. Large boils should be incised and drained. Antibiotic therapy is advisable for large or recurrent boils or those that occur in sensitive areas (such as around or in the nostrils or in the ear).As with any type of skin disorder scarring can happen.

A: My grandmother used it as mouthwash for many years – more to prevent cavities than whiten, although I’ve heard it will help with stains as well. When she died she still had a good strong set of teeth and they were all her own. I myself can’t get past the taste of it but thankfully they now put it in toothpaste. I refuse to buy toothpaste unless it has baking soda and peroxide in it and the last time I went to a dentist (I don’t go very often) he and his nurse were amazed when they found out how long it was since my last visit/cleaning. So I guess it works. All that other stuff you mentioned I can believe. However I think I would feel like I was drowning if I sprayed it up my nose. ( A Little salt water works for stuffy nose also.)

A: I agree with everything but #10. DON’T put peroxide in your hair! It’s unreliable and can be as damaging as bleach if you don’t know what you are doing. Good rule of thumb…Go to a professional for any permanent hair color. Lightening is permanent.
