Can wisdom teeth cause enlarged lymph nodes or an enlarged spleen…?
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Can_wisdom_teeth_cause_enlarged_lymph_nodes_or_an_enlarged_spleen
I don’t think your “spleen” has anything to do with your wisdom teeth coming in. But, in uncommon cases, infection to your wisdom teeth can sometimes cause enlarged lymph nodes, but only if the teeth are “impacted”. A de…

If the tumor is gone, why are the lymph nodes still enlarged?
Q: My father has Stage 3 esophageal cancer and finished his 6 weeks of chemo & radiation. Tests show that the tumors are gone but his lymph nodes are still enlarged. What does that mean?
A: One of the treatments of esophageal cancer includes chemoradiation (CRT). Depending on the location and the involvement of the lymph nodes, surgery may or may not be feasible. Regardless, definitive CRT can be helpful to downstage the disease, meaning, reduce the stage of the cancer. Immediately after this therapy, there may still be lymph node enlargement because it takes time for the cancer cells to resolve. Even if all the cancer is gone, there may still be lymph node enlargement because of scarring in the tissue. About 6-8 weeks minimal is required after therapy to assess the response, and after that, if surgery is possible, then an esophagectomy can help remove the tumor/lymph nodes to see if there is residual cancer.
enlarged lymph nodes on my neck?
Q: I’m 18 years old and noticed some lumps in my neck maybe an inch or two below my ears when I was quite a bit younger, but when I pointed them out everyone just told me I probably had a cold and that they’d go away. And I just shrugged it off because I was young and didn’t know any better. So now it’s several years later and I recently found them again and they seem to have grown proportionally with me. (Two on the left side, one the size of a pea and the other maybe a slightly flat grape. And on the right side I have one that size too.) So I guess it’s not a cold that’s doing it 🙁 I’m going to my GP but are there any reasons why lymph nodes can become permanently enlarged?Lumps are painless and semi-mobile
A: I read a book before where a girl had enlarged lymph nodes on her neck that were painless and went to the doctor. She ended up having cancer. I don’t want to scare you… just wait and see what your doctor says.
Enlarged lymph nodes for over 4 mths – why?
Q: Last year I started losing weight without trying (lost 8kg in total over a 6 wk period) and started feeling really lousy, like I had the ‘flu but without the sore throat. I was tired all the time too and my back and neck were aching. The doc noticed some enlarged lymph nodes in my neck, which I hadn’t even noticed myself. I had an ultrasound and was diagnosed with ‘cervical lymphadenopathy’. There were also some slightly larger nodes in my left armpit. As I had breast cancer 11 years previously when I was 25, it was first thought it had returned and I was sent off for tests, including blood tests, all came back ‘normal’. I was then tested for every other viral/bacterial/infectious disease and again, all tests were negative. Then I started having dizzy spells and heart palpitations. That was Nov/Dec. It’s now March and the nodes have gotten bigger and now there’s a hard lump in the nodes in my groin. What is going on? My sister had Hodgkins when she was 21 – could it be that?my brother also was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at age 38, a year after my own dx – his was rare for his age group, like mine was. 3 of us in one family. We come from an area that was sprayed with DDT too….I’ve had itchiness and a few nights when I’ve woken up sweaty as well.
A: I’d go back to your doctor and make sure Lymphoma can be definitively ruled out. Any itching? Night sweats? Here’s the best info on Lymphoma:http://www.leukemia-lymphoma.org/hm_llsBest wishes
