You attach a balloon to a small nitrous tank, fill it up, then inhale and exhale through the balloon. You feel euphoric, like your floating off…It’s a lot of fun but can be fatal if abused.

It can make you pass out quite easily. A dentist will mix it with oxygen before giving it to a patient, and if you see anyone getting high on it using a mask and straight nitrous, if they pass out they will suffocate from lack of oxygen.

Does anyone else get a head buzz from the anesthetic shot that dentists give?
Q: I haven’t ever heard of anyone else getting high from the local anesthetic shots that dentists give before doing fillings and such, but I do. Why would I ever choose nitrous oxide (which isn’t good for you anyway and may be linked to Olney’s Lesions) when this stuff feels this great?!
A: It actually is true that you can get that BUZZ. It doesn’t effect the majority of people but I have had patients affected by it. In the medication there is epinephrine which is also called adrenaline…so it’s somewhat like speed. As I said, it’s rare that you feel it!!
Question about the Nitrous Oxide in Whipped Cream Cans?
Q: I heard people where I work talking about getting high from inhaling the gas from the can after its empty of cream. I think they are idiots for doing that, but I looked at the ingredients on the can and since the propellant is nitrous oxide, isnt that laughing gas? and if so, isnt that harmless? If dentists can use it on patients and it doesnt kill them, why do people so “it will kill you” if its just laughing gas? by the way I have NEVER tried to inhale it, I’m just wondering why people say its dangerous when dentists use it all the time?
A: i jus did it a little bit ago but yes it can kill you and it is laughing gas
♥ Can someone plz help me with this speech on Global Warming..? ♥
Q: My sis is 9 yrs old and she has a speech about it. I’m helping her write it but I’m so lost. Here is what I have so far but I think it sounds boring and dumb! Can you help me rewrite it so its more interesting for 5th graders? I know this is asking for a lot but any ideas / suggestions / help would be so appreciated!! Thank you so much =)>>>Global Warming SpeechThe Earth has warmed by about 1F over the past 100 years. But why? And how? Well, scientists are not exactly sure. The Earth could be getting warmer on its own, but many of the world’s leading climate scientists think that things people do are helping to make the earth warmer.Global warming is caused by greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases such as CO2, methane, nitrous oxide, water vapour and ozone trap heat around the earth. Without them, heat would be lost into space and we’d all freeze. The trapping of heat around the earth is called the greenhouse effect because glass in a greenhouse traps heat in a similar way, keeping the inside of the greenhouse warm. The main greenhouse gas responsible or global warming is carbon dioxide. When we burn fossil fuels such as oil when we drive cars or in power plants and factories this relesaes huge amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases are like a blanket – if they are the right thickness. The Earht won’t be too hot or too cold. Many experts think the way we burn fuel and add chemicals to the atmosphere is causing the blanket to become thicker. This makes the earth hotter, an effect known as global warming.Scientists expect the average earth temp to increase by 6F over the next 100 years. This might not sound like much but it could change the Earth’s climate as never before. At the peak of the past ice age the temp was only 7F colder than today and glaciers covered much of the world! So what might happen? It is important to understand that scientists don’t know for sure what climate change will bring. Some changes brought about by climate change will be good. If you live in a very cool climate, warmer temperatures might be welcome. Days and nights could be more comfortable and people in the area may be able to grow different and better crops than they could before. But it is also true that changes in some places will not be very good at all.Global warming can make sea levels higher. Warmer weather makes the glaciers melt. Sea levels are expected to rise as much as 3ft in the next century. This could cause coastal flooding. Global warming also increases extreme weather such as tsunamis, floods, hurricanes and heat waves and droughts. Some animals and plants may go extinct because they can’t cope with the increasing temperatures.Global warming will drastically change the world as we know it. But dont worry, its not all doom and gloom! You can make a difference.Climate change may be a big problem, but there are many little things we can do to make a difference. If we try, most of us can do our part to reduce the amount of green house gases that we put into the atmosphere.Driving a car or using electricity is not wrong. We just have to be smart about it.Some people use less energy by carpooling. For example, four people can ride together in one car instead of driving four cars to work. Whenever we use electricity, we help put greenhouse gases into the air. By turning off lights, the television, and the computer when you are through with them, you can help a lot.Planting trees is fun and a great way to reduce greenhouse gases. Trees absorb carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, from the air.>>>Thats all I have so far…I still have to write a conclusion but I don’t know what to say..
A: There are a few errors in the speech:1) The IPCC’s FAR predictions for temperature are along the lines of 1.1-6.4oC by the end of the century. That’s 2-11.5oF. You might want to mention that scientists aren’t really sure how much the world will warm but it could be as low as 2oF or as high as 11.5oF and some scientists think this could be even higher!2) The last glacial period was actually a bit colder than this, it’s more like 9oC which is just over 16oF, but your point is still valid.3) The IPCC doesn’t really expect the sea to rise that much. The FAR stated a range of 18cm-59cm which is about 7″-23″. You might say, again scientists don’t know exactly but they think the sea may rise but just over 1/2′ or nearly 2′. You could maybe demonstrate how much this is by placing your hand 7″ and then 2′ off the floor to emulate flooding.4) Warmer conditions don’t increase the chance of tsunamis. Also you should say “may increase the likelihood of floods…” as we don’t know for sure.Things you could mention:1) The first bit is a tad garbled, just say “Greenhouse Gases such as CO2 trap…”. Don’t bother mentioning the others seeing as it’s for 5th graders.2) About sea level rise you could talk about the possibility of some pacific islands being submerged in the future, perhaps with the aid of a photograph to hand round.3) I’m loath to suggest using polar bears as an example, but as it’s for nine year olds that kind of thing is probably OK.4) When you say “many experts think when we burn…”, that implies some don’t. Seriously just say “When we burn fuels, we are adding more CO2 to the atmosphere which makes this blanket thicker and many scientists think this causes global warming.” Or something.5) Maybe mention longer growing seasons and less harsh winters.6) You could finish with something like “So, yes, it’s a big problem, but if we work together, you as an individual and us as a school [is it school?] and the whole world can solve this crisis once and for all. Thank you.” Something like that.
