put it this way a person who is 5 foot 2 is supposed to be around your weight u must be realllllllllllllllllly skinny Before you go running off to the doc lets consider a few things.First I ran a couple of numbers through the CDC’s BMI listing. Your BMI, body mass index, takes into account several factors more so than just weight; these factors are like sex and age. At 107lbs you are underweight BUT at 108 you are at the bottom of the range for your age and height, roughly 160 is the top before becoming overweight. So why the range? Items to consider are your body structure and the amount/type of excercise you do. Runners will often be at the low end of the range while soccer players, football, and other contact sports will normally be at the higher end. Also, your body structure will make a differance. Put your index finger and thumb around your wrists and, if they touch easily then you are thin boned, if touch but not wrapped, then you are average boned, and if they don’t touch you are big boned. Again, here this would play into your BMI as someone who is small boned would have a much lower BMI than someone with a larger BMI.Also, what type of sports do you play? Says that you like extreme sports and, if this is the case, you most likely compete in very demanding activities which will likely require you to have little body fat.ALL SAID. You should now ask yourself — are you big or small boned (big then likely should see a doc and nutritionist). Are you a runner or involved in active sports (if so, then less worried about weight). Are you eating healthy — 4 to 6 small-to-moderate meals a day if active with lots of fruit, vegitables, oats/grain, protein, etc.? If so then you are fine.But, if you dont excercise a lot (6 hours plus a week) I would see a doc. If you are big boned then see a doc. If you are not eating healthy and eat fatty foods instead.see a doc. But only you can answer those questions. Don’t listen to people who say “oh yea honey, you are underweight” w/o considering more factors than just height and weight.
