remember, during your period you aren’t just bleeding, you are flushing out lining and tissue..recycling your body so to speak. There is more than just blood being expelled. When you get a cut.it is only blood that your body is losing. Different stuff in peoples’ bodies have different smells.its just how it is! i don’t know but it is weird Mostly because it accumulates on a pad or tampon for a couple of hours, that’s all. I think it’s only after the blood makes contact with the “outside world” that it begins to smell different. Butchers’ shops smell pretty much the same. Probably worse cos at least some pads and tampons are lightly scented! Period blood can smell a bit. ‘Specially in the summer. When temperatures soar, things get snugger. Plus there’s a problem with sanitary towels (apart from the wrappers, the prices and the dodgy adverts). The big problem is: they are ponds. Collectors of stagnant liquid. And ponds can fester. No matter how ‘breathable’ or dry-weave-cotton-top-sheet they are. Bottom line: STs are plastic backed. We shouldn’t expect to smell fresh-as-a-daisy with cling film on our gussets. So here are the options:1. Change your pad every couple of hours, especially on heavy days.2. Wash your nethers every day with warm water (actually, this one isn’t an option)3. Switch to tampons: more like a dam than a pond.4. Be bum-friendly with cotton knickers and loose clothes.Above all, remember this: bums are meant to smell. No one is born with cleanser between the legs. We always notice our own smells most. So even if your mates are up close, you can be confident and say nothing. Except “Quit nose-diving my lap”. There’s surely no need. It’s blood mixed with dead tissue. It smells that way because it’s begun the process of breaking down.
there is more than just blood in your period It’s just a place where the air can’t circulate very well.
good question! I wonder that too..not sure though!sorry
because during your period your body is disposing of more then just blood. it is everything your female parts store and then release once month. because you’re a dirty girl.
b/c the “blood” that you see when mestrauting is the lining of your uterus. additionally it is mixing with additional bodily fluids. Different stuff. Blood from a cut does not have all the other lining stuff with it.
