Is it normal that at 12.5 weeks the nurse still didn’t hear the babies heart beat she said it was to soon?
I’m very worried that said that everything was fine but they all seemed confused to me she said that my weight might be a factor being that iam on the heavy side and she also had trouble feeling my womb I’m so worried they didn’t seem concerned just confused.If anyone out there has gone through the same situation or have heard of anyone please write i had never heard anything like it , thanks.

It depends on how large you are. If you have a little fluff around the mid section it is a little harder to pick up the sound waves. I wouldn’t worry to much about. You should be hearing your babies heart beat by your next visit. A baby’s heart beat can be heard anywhere from 7 wks up but mostly it is heard at 11-12 wks. One can pick up the fetal heart beat as early as 10 weeks with a “doppler soniket” and can visualize it on “sonography” as early as 7 weeks. It can be heard by a “stethoscope” not before 24 weeks. It is most advisable for you to go in for a “ultrasound” to check for fetal viability. I’ve read that you can’t hear the fetal heart beat until 20 weeks.
