Could I have a blood clot in my lungs?(Pulmonary embolism) Please answer I am so stressed.?
Q: When ever I lay down on my stomach or chest for a while playing on my computer then stand up I feel tightness near my sternum. I then throw my arms back and my head back and stretch my chest back and I can crack it and it feels a little better. Also If I stoop over(hunch my back forward) and then straighten back up I feel the same tightness. Also If I stoop over and tighten the muscles in my chest I feel a pain there. Sometimes when I cough I can feel the pain there also. And once in a while if i breath deep i can also feel it.It has been like this for about almost two weeks. Its gotten a little better and some days its worse.I read up on Pulmonary embolism because I am a hypochondriac and it said it hurts more when you stoop over, breath, and cough. Im very scared it has to do with a blood clot or a heart attack or something serious because whenever I go check my blood pressure at the machine at the store it says its high (155-130/100-84) I take it multiple times and it decreases normally the first one is the highest. PLEASE NOTE i have major anxiety and I think that was causing the blood pressure. I went to a doctor and he said it was 120/80 and I was like thats strange. I went back to a different store and it was high again. I waited a couple days and Noticed that I was having blood in my nose when ever I blew it or stuck a tissue up into it. It never actually bleed out but whenever I blow my nose there is some blood in the boogers. Thinking this is because of high blood pressure I went back to the same doctor and It turned out to be 140/100(the nurse took it) I started freaking out. They did an EKG and said everything looked fine except I had sinus Tachcardia which they said was because I was very nervous. By the time I left my blood pressure was down to 136/88(the doctor took it a couple times) one after another waiting about 2 mins in between. Was that enough time for another accurate reading or were my blood vessels constricted and blood pushed away causing a lower reading? Is that whats happening at the store machine when it drops lower?NOW THIS WAS A WALK IN CLINIC SO I DO NOT KNOW HOW GOOD THEY AREI am 19 years old I weigh 184-192 and I am 5″11 or 6″I have started eating healthier and I see a psychiatrist. Now back to the point does this seem like it could be something serious or just muscle pain(note: I have bad posture I hunch over on my computer allot). And do you think the nose bleed is from high blood pressure or sometime else. I have seasonal allergies and I used afrin(which you are supposed to use not more than 3-5 days in a row) for about a year and a half almost everyday(which could have messed up the lining in my nose) My nose has been like this for almost a month. When I use saline spray It starts to have more blood when I stick a tissue up there( maybe b/c the spray is dissolving the blood clot)I am very very nevous and stressed out and I have had a chain reaction of stressful events from being shot at, Roommate passed away car crash, dog ran away(just got a call that she is found :-D), college home sickness, and family issues.Thank you in advance for taking your time to read this long question and I really appreciate you answering this. It really means allot to me.(dont just say go to a doctor I have been to 14 different doctor/clinics in the past 19 weeks for random things I thought was wrong with me most turned out nothing was wrong and I think now that this my be the cause of my symptoms, and my parents are getting sick of paying)
A: Anxiety will make you think you have every disease in the book. If you had an embolism, you would not be here to be asking. The pain is probably like you said from hunching over. Try sitting with better posture for a few days or ”catch” yourself slouching. Its sucks to be a hypochondriac. That is worse than a disease itself sometimes. I think that you went through alot of different things and your stress level is high. Find things that help you to relax. Also, take it from experience, don’t look up every little ache an pain on the internet even though you really want to because you will think you have 100 diseases that don’t even exist in you.
Please answer my chest pain/nose bleed question? Im very nervous and its hard to sleep im so stressed.?

A: I agree with the previous poster and would like to add that the nasal spray could itself be causing your problems with your nose.I would also suggest you find a better psychiatrist or be honest with the one you have. Are you one anti-anxiety medication? I’m not saying this to make light of your situation. I had to try out many psychiatrist before I found one that could help me (I’m bi-polar).I know it’s easy said than done but you have to find a way to relax. Your fear seems to be in overdrive. Anti-anxiety medication should be able to help with this but you also need to find someone to talk to so you can find the root of your fears and a way to cope with them.Being bi-polar I have to be careful the manage my anxiety because it can send me into a manic episode. When I start to feel anxious I talk myself down. I try to live by the saying don’t trouble trouble because trouble will find you. To me this means don’t worry about something that can go wrong because if it goes wrong you won’t have to wonder if it’s going wrong you will know it’s gone wrong. The only thing you can do is be the healthiest you you can be. Exercise, eat right, get your annual checkups. I suspect that your fixation on your physical health is a symptom of emotional distress. You’ve had a lot of emotional turmoil recently and think you need have a professional help you deal with those issues. I hope everything works out for you.
Frequent chest pain/discomfort?
Q: I’m a college student who recently got married and moved to another city to go to school, so I’m no longer covered by my parents’ insurance policy. I’m not sure how to go about seeing a doctor anymore, and I haven’t since I’ve gotten married. I am seeking advice on my current situation and would appreciate any help you have on how I should handle it.When I was a kid I remember having intense, stabbing pains in my heart that came on suddenly. I mentioned it to my doctor, and he told my mother and I that it was “just growing pains” and completely normal. Recently, I’ve started experiencing these pains I’ve had all my life more frequently. I don’t remember exactly, but I know I never had them more often than once every two months, but now I’m experiencing them at least once every few days. They don’t last for long, but they are extremely painful and I can’t breath much or move until they are gone. Sometimes they last for up to two minutes, and lately I’ve felt a dull pain afterward. I’ve read that these pains are common in children and not thought to be related to any heart problems, but lately I’m not so sure. Within the past six months I’ve started to get a new type of chest pain along with the now more frequent stabbing pains. It feels very dull and somehow hot in my chest and my left arm. My chest feels as if someone is squeezing it – sometimes I would describe it as painful, while others just uncomfortable. Sometimes I experience dull pain in my left arm as well at the on sight of the chest pains. I’m not sure if it’s all in my head or not, but I think that blood isn’t circulating properly in my left arm while this is occurring. The only way I know how to describe the chest ache is like I swallowed a really big, really not-well-chewed mouthful of french fries. Earlier today the pain was very uncomfortable, and my husband told me to take an aspirin around 4. Now it’s 7 and I’ve been experiencing the feeling again for at least an hour. The first time I experienced these pains I was wearing a fitted tank top with a built in bra, and I just assumed the tight elastic around my chest was the reason I was experiencing this circulation problem. However, I’m still having these pains. I don’t know what to do, and I don’t have a doctor to talk to because of our situation. I’m afraid I’m making a mountain out of a mole hill by worrying about this whole thing, but I want to make sure because I’m positive I have some sort of heart condition. I wish I would have pursued my doctor about it more when I was younger, because now his reassurance that it was just “growing pains” makes me hesitant to take this seriously. My diet has changed a lot since I’ve gone to college and got married, and I’m hoping that doesn’t have anything to do with it. I feel that I eat pretty poorly – I’ve always really disliked eating meat and I hardly do, except for hamburger meat or really dry white chicken. other than that, I never do eat meat unless it’s pepperonis on a pizza or whatever is in McDonald’s chicken nuggets. I work as a waitress in a restaurant here near school, so I eat several french fries and random other fried foods several times a day while I’m working without thinking about it much. Sometimes I’m under a lot of stress while trying to balance school, work, and being with my husband. I’ve never done any type of drugs, I don’t smoke, and I don’t drink alcohol more than once every few weeks. I’m 21, 5 foot 3, and I weigh 110 lbs. I’m not over weight, and the last time I had my blood pressure checked it was good. No one in my family has a history of heart problems, although my grandfather did have a stroke but he also suffered from diabetes and after my grandmother died his health went down hill. I’m trying to think of anything I can that can be the source of these problems, but I’m still unsure. Any thoughts or advice you have would be greatly appreciated, and thanks for reading this long spill of mineThe pain does not hurt when I press on my chest, and I haven’t ever been able to produce it from exercise. It doesn’t hurt when I take a breath, except during the sharp, stabbing pains. I’m not taking birth control pills and I’ve never smoked.Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I know my husband and one of my friends said they know what I mean by the sudden, intense, stabbing pains.
A: I know EXACTLY what you are feeling! I have never been able to describe it as well as you have here but I have the exact same thing going on and the doctors have looked at my heart and said there is nothing wrong there. So they said they don’t know what it is. I have been told several thing along the lines of heart burn, inflammation of the chest, and fibromialgia. None of which sound right to me, especially the fibromialgia becasue with that you have several points of pain and not just the one or two in the chest. I have tried taking anti-inflammatories when the pains happen alot but I haven’t noticed any decrease in them. I had pains when I was younger and like you I was told they were “growing pains”. After I got married and had my first child they became increasingly more frequent. I wish I could give you some hope of relief but I havent found anything. The only thing that seems to help in the tiniest bit is chiropractic care and stretching everyday, with a focus on stretching the chest as much as you can. This helps loosen the chest to help lessen the frequency of the attacks. While you are having the attack(i know this is VERY VERY hard to do) stretch to the opisite side that the pain is on, so as to stretch the side of the chest that the pain is on. This helps ease the pain and shorten the length of the pain. Also try to take a slow easy breath.I hope you can find something that helps you. Feel free to add me to you messenger if you would like my screen name is beebeemoma2002. I would be glad to talk to you if you need someone who understands how these pains feel.

  1. If you have been fully vaccinated with 2 shots, last one March 4, 2021 and are given a hug from a person who had COVID (a mild case), are you safe from getting COVID.
