What can i do to stop my feet from sweating while i play tennis, and then not stink when i take off my shoes?
Q: Today i have my first date with a guy. (okay its a double date but whatever…) and we are going to play tennis with one of my friends and one of his friends who are dating. After that, we are going to go back to my friend’s house and watch a movie. My big problem is that my feet sweat a lot, and then when i take off my shoes, my feet stink REALLY bad. My friend has a rule that shoes go off in her house, so what do i do to stop the sweating and the stinking?it needs to be able to be done it 3 hours, because the date is starting in 3.5 hours. If i leave baby powder, or baking soda, in my shoes for those 3 hours, wash my feet really well, put antiperspirant on my feet, and wear cotton socks, should that get rid of the problem?? Any other quick fixes?? Thanks for the help :)Maddy
A: I dont think there are any quck fixes but here are some things you can do for the future. Having smelly feet is an embarrassing yet very common problem, and about 50 percent of the population suffers from it. But what causes smelly feet, and how can we minimise or even get rid of the smell altogether? Well, bacteria loves sweat, and boy do our feet deliver. Between them, feet have about 500,000 sweat glands. Every day, those glands can produce up to 500ml of sweat. When you put on shoes and socks, the sweat has got nowhere to go, and the bacteria go into a bit of a feeding frenzy in the warm, moist environment. When the shoes and socks come off, it’s not the sweat you smell, it’s the bacteria and all their excretions. ResultsHere are some simple tips to help combat smelly feet: Wear cotton socks. They absorb the sweat away from your feet. Change your socks frequently, especially after exercise. Don’t wear the same pair of shoes two days in a row. Give them time to air. Avoid wearing shoes whenever you can. Go barefoot at home. Try and wear ventilated shoes made from natural material such as cotton or leather as they breathe easier than synthetic shoes. Buy some odour-absorbing shoe liners or use a spray or roll-on foot deodorant. Try to treat yourself to a footbath every week. Not only is it relaxing, but it’s good for your feet as well. Use a scrub or pumice stone to get rid of dead skin cells and leave your feet nice and smooth. Dry them off and massage a lightly scented moisturiser into your feet. If you don’t find relief from any of those suggestions, you might be suffering from a smelly fungal infection such as tinea (also called athlete’s foot). Tinea can be treated with many over-the-counter creams from your local pharmacy.
What is a good shampoo to get rid of a stink on a poodle?
Q: I have a dilemma. My toy poodle is 14 years old and I love him dearly, but he stinks within a day of bathing him? He is losing his teeth and of course they are getting bad. When I take him to get his teeth cleaned, they usually end up pulling a couple or a couple fall out. But, he seems to chew on his back a little and he sucks his foot (has since 5 weeks of age). Its cute, but where his teeth are bad, it makes his fur stink. I do not know how to fix this problem. I have a 17 month old son who wants to interact with him, but I cant let him for the stink. I bathe him every couple days because of it and its getting extremely tiresome and time consuming by the time I groom him. I love him and would do anything for him, dont get me wrong, but I need some advice on how to deal with this problem. Right now, I have to keep him in a kennel while gone to keep him from getting on my furniture and stinking it up. He is my baby too and I need advice to help us both be a little more happy. HELP!
A: A deodorizer. Ask your Vet about the smell, if it’s that bad it is probably the food your giving him. He is also 14, and sadly the body just isn’t what it use to be when it was young and may not be able to digest everything properly. The bad teeth don’t help the situation either.
How do I get rid of her?
Q: I have this friend who is 24 that has stayed w/ us for 6 months. We cannot kick her out unless we go to court. We do not have the money to do that. She lost her job 1 month ago, has not gone looking for another, she does NO chores around the house(she actually makes them by leaving stuff all around and not picking up after herself) She has turned into such a slob since she started hanging out w/ this 40 somthing yr old man who is still married and has a gf who is pregnant and they all live together and she is in love w/ him. She does not take showers anymore she wears pjs everyday w/ holes in the backside showing her butt. Her hair is greasy, her feet stink. She has not paid her rent w/ us, she never buys her cat food or litter or cleans the litter box, me and my fiance do that, and the list goes on. What are we to do? Because she has established residency here we have to legally evict her but we do not have that kind of money, and she is such a bad influance on my children, any sugg?
A: Thank u, you really made me laugh!!!!!!!…No, seriosly, she seems really unbearable… POOR YOU! Where did you get a friend like her????!!!…Try to talk to her (by being not very gentle), make her clear that you can’t afford keeping her with you, because you have work, children, a house which must be looked after etc., and you really can’t be more patent with her, Tell her she must find a soulution, that she’s 24 and you’re not a center of charity. If she’s so barefaced she doesn’t want to leave, than hire a professional killer… If this doesn’t work too…. god, man, I don’t know what to say… you definetly have to buy her a pair of new pyjamas…
