Face wash has almost no effect on acne, other than irritating it more. Try a leave-on acne treatment, such as benzoyl peroxide (I use Zapzyt right from the drugstore) and a very gentle cleanser such as cetaphil.

You need a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide cleanser, a good moisturizer, and gentle face wash. Step one: Face wash. Use face wash as instructed, <blah blah blah> then continue to step 2.Step two: Apply tons and tons of the cleanser, go to sleep and wake up, advance then… Step three: Apply the moisturizer, so your skin doesn’t get flaky from the benzoyl peroxide.
