Q: I went in to get my roots touched up today. I am a natural dark ash/mousy blonde but i started dyeing my hair lighter in january. My hair color this morning was a slightly-golden LIGHT blonde (not platinum though) and she was supposed to obviously match that and then tone the whole thing over. But I noticed that when she bleached my roots, they turned brassy blonde and orangish. Not technically orange, but too orangey for me. She then toned it with a “Sandy beige” toner and when she finished it still was too orange because I’m assuming the roots weren’t light enough (just orangey). So then she puts another toner on my hair and this time it gets darker. The top and outside of my hair was ok but the underneath was a dark red-purpley ash and it almost matched my natural color. I wanted light ash blonde. This was the first time at this salon for me but I am going back tomorrow to get it fixed but what should I ask for her to do? It obviously needs to be bleached again but how do you get it light blonde and not orangey?
