I have a friend who takes Aderol because he says he is unmotivated and cannot concentrate.?

Q: Even though he takes these pills, he is still unmotivated, and rarely wants to do anything other than play video games or other weird crap he does in his room. He says he has ADD and that’s why he’s taking it. I keep telling him it’s all in your head, you need to snap out of it and take care of the situation. Plus, on top of this, he drinks like a madman. He goes through a 12 pack easily in one night (every night). From what I know, doesn’t this counteract the effectiveness of this drug? Anyone know anything about this drug? Anny suggestions I should give him?

A: The lack of motivation and drinking could be due to something other than ADD, such as depression. Adderall wouldn’t help with that, but I would think his doctor knows what he’s doing. At least, one would hope. Ignorant doctors are the worst.
