5 Inspirational Verses You Have Never Heard

Sometimes in life we can get overwhelmed or feel bogged down by the situations and circumstances that surround us. Often in those times of self-doubt, and heartache; we need a word of encouragement or inspiration. In those times we need a fresh sense of encouragement, not something that is seen or posted like a cliche but rather something of substance and history. What we need is something more than a picture on an athlete’s face, under their eyes, or tattooed on someone’s back. Not that those things are wrong, but usually out of context, and without real barring on anything taking place. What we need are the most inspirational verses, you probably do not know about.

1. Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” In this passage we have one of the ultimate pre-game speeches. Moses who has been the leader of the nation of Israel for some time, and led them out of Egypt, across the wilderness, through valleys and mountains is now is at the end of his journey. What Moses leaves them with is a call to Joshua, his successor, and the nation of Israel who are about to face many giants, and trials in their quest for the promise land. This is a call to never fear. 2. 1 Peter 3:14 “But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled.” How many times have you felt like you were unjustly ridiculed or talked down to, or persecuted because you did what you believed was right? So many times we are all faced with moments of persecution if we are not willing to swim the same direction as everyone else, but if we suffer, and we do so for the things that are right, the Lord will bless you, and once again you have nothing to fear. 3. Ezra 10:4 “Arise, for it is your task, and we are with you; be strong and do it.” This verse is exactly as it sounds. Ezra was a man with a task given to him to do and accomplish, and in this moment the people around him realize the task, and the importance of it, and voice their confidence and commitment to him. We all face moments where we lack clarity, and times that we feel we are without direction. Sometimes we need a word to show us that we have direction and purpose, and the means to get it accomplished. 4. 1 Corinthians 16:13 “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.” Paul is writing this to the people of Corinth and telling them to be watchful in all things. So many times we end up doubting who we are, and the things that we should be doing. Whether that is work, our relationships, or even our walk with God, but Paul gives inspiration here, to stand firm and be strong. We have been given what we need to be able to continue on. 5. 2 Corinthians 4:16 “So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away our inner self is being renewed day by day.” This verse may seem the opposite of inspirational, but it is all within the understanding of the reader. We all face the moments that we realize we are getting older, and that we may not in fact live forever. One thing that we can take hope in however, is that although we may see someone aging outwardly from the effects of life, inwardly we are being renewed day by day as we await eternity and rejoice in the things not just seen but the things unseen as well.
