I wonder why they named it fall
before the spring must winter call
colorful leaves dot grassy lawns
tastiest apples drop like pawns
suddenly stand near naked trees
twisting into autumn’s breeze
Pumpkin tooth smiles spot front porches
Dad’s remove their Tiki torches
Mums appear with colors blazing
Daylight shortens quite amazing
Guarding doors are cornstalks tall
Halloween spider webs deck the hall
Back one hour ticks clock on wall
I now know why they named it fall
