In My Bed
I lay in my bed
enveloped in the pitch
black
no light to be seen
my eyes are swollen
and hurting
tear stained cheeks
from all of the pain
that my life brings
In my bed
my safe haven
Nothing can touch or
hurt me here
The scars speak for themselves
I lay here peacefully
Closing my eyes
Hoping to escape reality and
see someone new
with numerous opportunities
and love surrounding them
dreaming here in my bed
allows me to see what I long for
and hope to someday become
