Increasing Page Views to Your Website

To find viewers to our website, many of us rely exclusively on the use of key-words or phrases. Although generally effective, the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) approach is a passive approach and success lies largely beyond our control as our actual position on the Search Engine Results Page (SERP) is determined by a closely guarded algorithm. And even though SEO consultants will claim that there is a science to it, none can (or will) (a) guarantee success; (b) ensure it happens quickly; and (c) allow you to maintain your artistic/ writing integrity.

Fortunately, there is a better way and that way is through the use of Twitter.

Twitter is a Social Networking platform that allows users to broadcast short messages (of less than 160 characters) on a real time basis. These Tweets, as they are called, allows users to keep other users updated without going through an intermediary like a search engine which determines what is relevant and what is not. Hence unlike SEO, all Tweets are considered “relevant” and for all intents and purposes ranked #1 when it is published. Twitter is therefore an effective way to “advertise” your website to potential visitors and the inclusion of a hyper-link ensures high click-through rates.

So there you have it. Increasing your page views is not as difficult as you think. For me, I have personally experienced a 100% increase in my page views since I started using Twitter to “advertise” my website. And, as the number of my “Followers” grow, I believe that the new number of page views will not only remain high, but see exponential growth.

Good luck and do meet me on Twitter (@sg_insider) to share your experience.

P.S. Given the transitory nature of Tweets, effective use of Twitter requires a sustained effort. Fortunately, there are freeware available online that allows you to not only schedule tweets, but automatically set them for the most effective time. is one such freeware that I am using that I have personally found useful.
