Richmond Fair
September 4-6, 2011

Enjoy fried green tomatoes, rides, vendors, pies in the face, contests, food, live entertainment and so much more at this 31st annual festival. General admission is $15, and the location is historic Richmond Town which is on Staten Island.

Run to Remember New York City
September 4, 2011

Join a 5-K run (or walk) to remember 9/11. This is the 3rd annual Run to Remember and it’s a great way to celebrate Labor Day. There is also a kids run as well as plenty of family entertainment. Registration opened July 28th. Pay tribute to those who lost their lives and to those heroes who helped save lives.

West Indian Carnival
September 5, 2011

This carnival actually started in Harlem in the 1920’s and is now located in Brooklyn. Enjoy the 44th anniversary of the carnival with plenty of activities for the whole family.

Electric Zoo Music Festival
September 2-4, 2011

Go to Randal’s Island Park and enjoy this fantasic music festival. A three day pass can be pricey (but you get a discount the earlier you do it), but it is well worth it. The best deal if you are only going one day costs $129. The artists, such as Afrojack and Carl Cox, are amazing. If you are a true music lover, a person who digs good sounds, this is the place for you.

US Open
August 29 – September 11, 2011
