Promote Your Business Through Social Media. Yes or No?

As we all know, social media has become the new trend in networking. If you are not on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or Viadeo then you don’t exist. Most companies have an entire marketing campaign based on social media, and they pay huge amounts of money to experts who manage their accounts on these networks.

Even if you are not a fan of these networks, you can’t afford to underestimate the power and the impact they can have on your potential clients and therefore, your business.

You know everybody’s singing the praises of these networks, but how can they help you, a coach, to improve your coaching business? Just like any other strategy: attract more clients and increase your revenue.

Why use social media in your strategy?

The advantages you get from using these platforms are numerous as long as you know how or when to work with them:

– You network online, so you can be on several networks at the same time. You don’t have to travel long distances or spend a lot of time and money attending meetings here, there and everywhere. Socializing takes less time and you can use that time on developing new products, programmes or coaching sessions for your business.

– The costs of promoting your business are minimal. If you are not a technical person or computer literate, you can hire an expert to create and manage your account on these platforms. You must make sure that your account looks very professional, that you provide all the information a potential client may need regarding your website or blog, or how they can contact you outside these networks.

– You can reach many more people than using the traditional way of marketing, because there are millions of people using these platforms every day. It gives you more visibility online. Plus, you can also promote your website and blog by creating links to them from your social network accounts.

Use social media wisely

However, you may come to realize that these social media platforms should not be the only strategy to adopt. Using them to promote your business is not a guarantee of quick results, or any results at all for that matter. Moreover, these platforms are not always right for all clients and all markets. If you decide to use social media as your main marketing strategy while your clients choose not to, you won’t get any clients.

Even if it’s an online environment, it is still about targeting. Millions of people are using these networks, so how can you find the ones that will want to work with you? Become an expert, specialize in a specific area of expertise and make sure your account clearly emphasizes that. Make yourself be seen and read by those people you are targeting. Whether it is a certain community, group or individuals, you will know who your potential clients are once you become an expert in a specific area.

Another aspect you shouldn’t neglect is that you must be active all the time on these platforms. You must post news about your activity, your products and programmes on a regular basis and answer all the questions your potential clients may ask you.

As I said before, if you can’t do it yourself, or you don’t have the time, you can ask a professional to do that for you.

Now it is up to you to decide when or how to use social media in your marketing strategy. But if you want to find out more pros and cons on these platforms, then you should ask for your free copy of my “Discover Your Magnetic Message” document at http://coachingandsuccess.com
