Top Five Quarterbacks: 2011 Fantasy Football

Here are my top five fantasy football quarterbacks in the NFL for 2011:

Tom Brady, New England Patriots

Last season, Brady led all NFL quarterbacks with 36 touchdown passes. He threw just four interceptions. Brady also led the league with a quarterback rating of 111.0. Brady plays in a system that loves to pass the ball, even in short yardage situations. With his ability to throw touchdown passes and limit interceptions, Brady is a top pick. [Search: Tom Brady]

Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. In the past three seasons, he has averaged 28 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Rodgers, the Super Bowl XLV MVP, has also averaged four rushing touchdowns in the last three seasons. [Search: Aaron Rodgers]

Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints

In the past three seasons, no quarterback has thrown more touchdown passes than Brees. However, Brees threw a career high 22 interceptions last season. Brees is still an elite NFL quarterback. Expect 30+ touchdown passes and fewer interceptions from Brees this season. [Search: Drew Brees]

Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers

Rivers has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL in the last three seasons. During this span, Rivers threw 30, 28 and 34 touchdown passes along with just 13, 9 and 11 interceptions. He also averaged an astounding 103.9 quarterback rating. Rivers has put up some impressive numbers in the NFL. [Search: Philip Rivers]

Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts

Manning is one of the all-time greatest quarterbacks to play in the NFL. You can count on him to throw for more than 4,000 yards and 30 touchdowns. The concern about Manning is his neck injury. He has been unable to practice with the team this preseason. The good news is that the Colts activated Manning from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list on Monday August 29, 2011. If Manning is healthy, he will put up solid quarterback numbers. Keep an eye on his progress as the season approaches. [Search: Peyton Manning]

These are my top five fantasy football quarterbacks in the NFL for 2011. All of these quarterbacks are capable of scoring big points for your fantasy football team.

Edwin Torres has been a fan of the Dallas Cowboys since the days of Tony Dorsett and Roger Staubach. He enjoyed watching the Dallas teams of the 90s dominate opponents on both sides of the ball. Living in New Jersey, he is sandwiched between Giants and Eagles fans. But that has never deterred him from being a fan of America’s team.
