1 mol of water is 18.02 g. So if you assume you’ve got pure water, 18.02 mL of it will contain exactly 1 mol. You could pick table sugar which has a molar mass of 342.3 grams. Just don’t do table salt; most salt is iodized so you’d have to …

What exactly is a mole and what is molarity?
Q: Are they correlated terms? I assume so, but I was just wondering.
A: Another way of expressing concentration, the way that we will use most in this course, is called molarity. Molarity is the number of moles of solute dissolved in one liter of solution. The units, therefore are moles per liter, specifically it’s moles of solute per liter of solution.Rather than writing out moles per liter, these units are abbreviated as M or M. We use a capital M with a line under it or a capital M written in italics. So when you see M or M it stands for molarity, and it means moles per liter (not just moles). You must be very careful to distinguish between moles and molarity. “Moles” measures the amount or quantity of material you have; “molarity” measures the concentration of that material. So when you’re given a problem or some information that says the concentration of the solution is 0.1 M that means that it has 0.1 mole for every liter of solution; it does not mean that it is 0.1 moles. Please be sure to make that distinction.
what is the mass of exactly one mole of calcium acetate? PLZ HELP?
Q: i think the formula for it would be Ca(C2H3O2)2 or it can also be Ca(Ch3COO)2can you please show your work i did ir already and i did it two ways one time i got131 and the other time i got 158.17 can someone help mew please?
A: well, carbon weighs 12.01 g/mol, oxygen is 16.00 g/mol and hydrogen is 1.008 g/mol adn calcium weighs 40.08 g/mol so (2 carbons + 3 hydrogens+ 2 oxygens) times 2 + 40.08 = 158.17 g/mol
