I’m 6wks pregnant and today had a brown discharge is this a sign of miscarriage or implantation bleeding?
Q: I had a miscariage back in nov. I started with light bleeding that stopped then some brown spotting. My doctor order three ulturasounds the first showed a low heart beat the second ultrasound a week later showed an even lower heart beat and the last one showed no heart beat at all. I had a D&C done that same week. I’m now concerned, am I going through the same problem or is it just implantation bleeding?
A: I’m not sure. It could be a delayed or missed miscarriage. it could be just one of those things. It’s a little late for implantation bleeding, this occurs a week after conception and is pink in colour.I really don’t know but I hope it isn’t bad news. If you’re in the UK you can make an appointment with the early pregnancy assesment unit (EPAU) at your local hospital. Just explain about your previous miscarriage and explain your symptoms and ask for an assesment.Good luck xxxx
implantation bleeding after miscarriage..? impossible!! right?
Q: okay ill try and keep this short, and straight forward as possible..my last period i could remember was the 8th of February, and i was expecting my next one around the 8th-10th of march, but it never came, i have irregular periods so i thought id wait awhileso it got the 29th or march and i took a test it was positive, i also took another test the next day positive again, i book a doctors appointment for the following sat but about 2 days before that i started having heavy bleeding with clots, i got taken to the hospital to be checked over she thought it was all fine because my cervix was closed (at this point i would of been about 6.2 weeks pregnant) so i waited for my 1st scan on the sat.when saturday came i went to the hospital (still bleeding) had my scan but we couldn’t seen anything there, so i was told i was having a miscarriage after all, i was very upset but i thought that was happening anyway, so i continued bleeding for maybe another 5 days or so, and then finished.its weeks later and im still waiting for my period to return, (i know it takes a few weeks), and today i used the toilet and went to wipe and had only on the tissue some very light pink, brownish substance on there, now i know that can be a sign of implantation bleeding after conception, but why do i have something like that now??can it be something different????can i still be pregnant with late implantation bleeding (i very much doubt it)????please helpi hope this is detailed enough i would appreciate any advice as detailed as possible please thank you..( if you want me to add any more details just say thanks again )answer to question 2:we havent had sex yet because were waiting for my period to come back so i can start on my birth control again. so cant be that, and it only happened for the first time about 4pm if any of this makes any difference =]thank you for answering
A: After a miscarriage, you can bleed for up to 6 weeks. It’s not considered a period unless there has been at least 20 blood free days between bleeding. That being said, a woman can be fertile right after a miscarriage. If you ovulated and had unprotected sex, you can be pregnant.I don’t want to get your hopes up, however. It’s more likely that your body is just expelling the final remnants or you are getting your period. I found the first two periods after my miscarriage were MUCH lighter than normal since my uterine lining hadn’t fully recovered yet.Good luck.
Did I have a miscarriage or just implantation bleeding?
Q: My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant. I went off the pill early April and my cycle has been 29, 21, 22, 26, 28, 24, 23 days (on average 25 days). Monday night (day 22) I notice when I went to the bathroom quite a bit of bleeding. I assumed I had started my period, put on a pad and went to bed. All day yesterday nothing, no spotting or any indication of a period. I’ve taken a home pregnancy test and it’s showing negative. I’ve done some reading and curious to know if you think what I saw Monday night was signs of a miscarriage or implantation bleeding (which means I may be pregnant). Also, should I go see doctor this week or wait until next week when I’ve confirmed positive on a home pregnancy test? Thanks.
A: It could be several things – your period, an early miscarriage, or implantation bleeding are all possibilities! I think a miscarriage is unlikely though – you would have noticed the same amount of bleeding as when you get your period, if not more, and probably a lot more cramping than normal, plus passing clots. A pregnancy test may or may not show as positive even if you are pregnant when taken that early – if you have no other bleeding or pain etc, then I would wait a few more days and test again. The other option is to see your doctor, as they can do a blood test which is a lot more sensitive than a HPT (most HPT’s detect 25 iu of hCG, whereas a blood test can pick up anything, and above 5 iu of hCG is considered a pregnant level).Implantation bleeding is generally not heavy – it’s usually just a smaller amount of spotting.Best of luck, I hope that you are pregnant.
