A: Get with your gyne and see if he/she would do a pelvic ultrasound, you could possibly have uterine fibroids. A year ago I began having what I thought was my regular cycle, it lasted the normal several days, eight days later I had it agan; this time it lasted for two weeks, went away for one week and came back again. It was March before I could get an appointment and by then I had continued to have bleeding; a pelvic ultrasound showed I had fibroids. I have since had a hysterectomy because the bleeding would not stop.But, only your gyne can tell you the best course of action. Good luck.

Should I be worried about my pre-employment medical exam?

Q: I am experiencing symptoms of what might be vasculitis. I was recently offered a job and they require me to do a medical examination the day I sign my contract. I have not been given a diagnosis yet of vaculitis, so technically it wouldn’t be lying to not tell them about it. Will any of the tests they do reveal this possible illness? I also used weed 35 days ago. Any chance they will find this if they perform a drug test? Are drug tests always performed during these medical exams?

A: Depends on the job you’ve applied for. I had a pre-employment medical exam for Cathay Pacific Airways before and they do a drug test. There’s also a medical history questionnaire that you might have to fill up. Its very detailed and they list the illnesses there so if vasculitis comes up on the list, you’ll just have to check yes or no. Just don’t lie to them because they will find out once they do the test so don’t jeopardize the job you’ve applied for. Once again, it depends on the company. Ofcourse, don’t say yes to a sickness unless you’ve already been diagnosed it. Goodluck.
