A: No, this article does not mean that dogs can contract HIV- it says so in paragraph 3 after the short intro. It only means that the dogs reacted to some of the proteins associated with HIV; this is not at all surprising as many viruses for humans have equivalents in the animal kingdom that have the same or similar protein structures. This is also seen in poxviruses.
