Does consuming a large amount of soy protein immediately after a workout really help build muscle?
Q: I have heard that you build more muscle if you take your protein IMMEDIATELY finishing your workout. The longer you wait, the less effective it actually is. I have also heard from other sources that this is untrue. Can anyone give me a definite answer on this? Preferably with scientific data or sources to back it up.
A: Yes. Post workout meal are extremely important. You should consume protein in the nest 10/15mns after your workout. Whey protein and isolate been the best one to use. You need a small meal to replace 3 thing: Rapid replenishment of glycogen stores. Stopping protein breakdown. Highly elevating protein synthesis. So that mean simple carbs and protein! The most important meals are Breakfast, pre-workout and post-workout. You need to feed your muscle right after training, for recovery. If your post nutrition is totally crap then your performance in your next workout will suffer, you won’t be at your peak or full potential, your gains will not be as good as they could be, and you could end up losing muscle along the way. So with all that in mind it is important to pay close attention to your post workout nutrition.

Lower/control your daily calorie intake (control for normalweight, lower for overweight). Going wheat free usually helps – no cakes, pasta, bread, pizza and so on.2. Run/jog to lower your overall body fat percentage.3. Target your problem areas with exercises. an excellent exercise, you can do it in front of your TV: sit on astool, and put your toes under something (piece of heavy furniture,for example). In your hands hold a little dumbbell. Please, make surethat it is not very heavy, start with one kilo, for example, or youwill damage your back and spine! Slowly move the upper part of yourbody back, until it’s parallel with the ground. Stop for a second andmove it back to the sitting position. Repeat ten times.
