4 Popular Women’s Office Wear Trends for Spring 2012

Fashion trends for spring 2012 are alive with color and can easily be incorporated into every woman’s office wear. Designers are focusing on bright colors with bold statement pieces, but neutrals are also visible. I plan on integrating some of the popular runway styles for spring into my office wear wardrobe.

1. High-waist Flared Pants

Many designers are using the 1970s as the inspiration for their spring 2012 collections. Some of the most popular items I have seen are the high-waist flared pants and jeans. The INC International Concepts flared pants are easy to match with any top and will fit most body shapes. The 18th Amendment high waist pants make a more bold statement. For a more casual office environment, the J Brand flared jeans are the perfect addition.

2. Vibrant Orange

Orange has been one of the most popular color choices for spring 2012. Although it may be too intense as an entire outfit at the office, I plan on incorporating orange into several parts of my closet by focusing on tops and jackets. The Yigal Azrouel orange leather pants may not work for an office environment, but the orange shirt presented on the same runway will look fine under a jacket. The dramatic Diane von Furstenberg tangerine dress offers another bold look.

3. Classic Black and White with Stripes

Classic black and white clothing with stripes continues to share a presence with other styles for spring 2012. I find this is the simplest trend to incorporate into office wear. Stripes are one of the most popular items for spring and look perfect in an office environment without drawing too much attention. The Yigal Azrouel knit top offers a fresh approach to stripes with some lime green accents. The Michael Kors zebra print dress is still modest enough for an office without sacrificing style. On the other hand, the Bailey 44 shirt is more dramatic with a riskier neckline and scooped out back.

4. Neutrals

Despite the sea of color on the runway, neutrals are still an extremely prominent choice at most spring 2012 collections. They are also some of the easiest types of clothing to integrate into office wear. I prefer using neutrals mixed with other colors to avoid a washed out appearance. The Yigal Azrouel sand dress and white jacket would fit most women. The Michael Kors crepe pants would look perfect with a bright top while the sheath dress can be paired with a red jacket for a dramatic effect.
